Cingular or ATT?

I am debating whether to buy this phone on Cingular or ATT. I live in NYC.

Due to the merger is one better than the other?

Which one has better internet services?

Are people certain that only ATT will be able to use Cingular and not vice versa?

Thanks...

In Southern California, ATT is using 850mhz and Cingular is just 1900. Also, ATT can roam for free on Cingular, but Cingular can not roam on ATT. (Of course once the merger happens none of this will matter, but that might still be more than 6 months away)

I've manually gone back and forth from the ATT and Cingular networks on the phone and there are some places (Mainly indoors) where the Cingular coverage didn't exist. Of course every part of the country is different. The disadvantage with ATT is the phone is more expensive, but the extra money was well worth the 850mhz towers for me.

Just wondering what you decided between Cingular and ATT. I am reluctant to part with Verizon because my whole family has it and it has proven very reliable.. but the phones are useless. However I just returned from overseas and am spoiled by the phones available abroad.

I also live in the NYC area and am interested in what you decided, and what your experience has been since.

On a second note, any advice on whether getting the T630 is wise.. I like the white... but probably not enough to deal with poor reception/service. I suppose I just answered my own query.

Thanks in advance,
Zoidy
