Looks better than dummy model, obviously.
Mine's still charging. Switched from Cingular to AT&T; hope I made a smart decision, comments?
...
why did you switch from cingular to att?
...
I will bet he switched because the phone is $100 less at Cingular......thats a big difference. Besides ATT can use Cingular towers now Im told the same does not apply in reverse until th deal closes.........
...
but what i don't understand about the whole roaming agreements is, att's gsm network IS cingular's gsm network...you pull up the coverage map, and at least, i can see no difference whatsoever in the two.

D'oh!
Well I've not had very good experiences with Cingular since they were Cellular One.
I got pretty bad reception on their network and everyone complains that they can't hear me, of course that could've been the T226's fault.
I didn't realize the price difference on the phones after rebates.
The reason I switched is because AT&T has a better family plan and I needed to get on one for a few friends of mine. AT&T charges only $10/mo./phone.
Plus the orange Cingular logo dude is annoying. And I LIKE orange!
Also, I got my Cingular phone through a telemarketing promo from my local phone company, SBC, and I owe them like $600 for my home phone, DSL and wireless. I'm porting my home phone over to the cell phone, hehehe, so far s...

Yes, this phone rocks...been using it for a few days now and everything is great...
And I would say you made a wise decision on switching, seeing as how AT&T's GSM coverage is better than Cingular's.

Don't Cingular users already use AT&T towers?
If not, won't they once the merger goes thru?
...
NO they dont but the reverse is true..and yes they will...
I think ATTWS GSM just got a huge boost with the announcement of the deal. It will help ATTWS keep customers as their GSM was way behind others..
...
I'm not sure where you are getting your information, but AT&T's GSM network is way BEYOND others and always has been.

I think that all depends on what part of the counrty you are in. Cingular's GSM coverage is much better in the southeast than ATTWireless GSM. ATTGSM runs only along a narrow path along the interstated in this area while cingular's coverage is much wider..altho it is no where near as good as the TDMA coverage cingular provides unfortunately bc if u want a decent phone u have to swap to GSM now. That is the main issue im dealing with now..i really like this phone and would loveto have it but would have to go to GSM coverage instead of the TDMA i am on now. But to stay on TDMA im stuck with the same 2 year old Nokia phone that is absolutley horrible as far as features go. I wish there were more multinetwork GAIT phones available in our a...

In Las Vegas that is not true. The ATT GSM network is pitiful compared to other Carriers. Thats why I stayed on TDMA. Now that Im month to month and because of the Cingular deal it will be and is according to some ATT users I know better, But I am most likely going to Cingular for the T637 which is $100 less then the same at ATT and ultimately the networks will be one and the same. wit ATT using cingular NOW I'm sure they have better GSM coverage there. But the phone prices as higher then Cingular.
People speak of coverage, who has the largest. But the largest is not the best if one does not go to those places. Verizon is the biggest and loudest on coverage yet there are many places where Verizon does not fare as well as even T mobile!
