Day 15 - The Final Day

Well, to all those who purchased a V710 at VZW on the very first day, waiting with the store crowds for an hour, being obsessed with getting the V710 now, we reach Thursday, 8/26, the final decision day for keeping the phone or throwing it back.

After 15 long days of living with the V710, playing, testing, weighing the good and the not so good, and after reading the many reviews and helpful posts, a decision must be made.

I conclude (your opinion may vary) that the V710 is currently VZW's best. Lots of features, most of which work pretty well. Most importantly, as a phone, mine works very well ... sound quality, reception & analog ability. I'm keeping it 🙂

Here's to a long V710 life (hopefully well past the 1 year warranty)!...

I was also debating as to whether or not I should return mine today (Especially since I dropped it and it has many scratches). However, I decided I was just going to buy a case and live with it. I would have to retransfer my phonebook and all my MP3 files, which I didn't feel like doing. Now I can send in my $70 mail in rebate 🙂 🙂 AND my free Y cable rebate (Since I already have the HS-810).

The rebate forms are at the Verizon stores for either a free Y cable or (I believe) a $20 rebate if you purchased your BT headset between 8/11 and some date in October (sorry...I already mailed in my rebate form). Of course you need a receipt and bar code from the product in addition to the rebate form. The Y cable simply lets you charge both your phone and your headset at the same time.

I thought that was for if you bought the 820 from verizon. I bought the 810 from best buy. Does anyone know if I can get the cable or rebate?

I'll have to agree....I'd go back to my v60i before I go to any other phone verizon has available!

I also purchased this phone day 1 and I am on the fence. The phone is great, however the little things regarding bluetooth, it scratching itself and the annoyance of an inactive outside display really bother me. I am very close to going to back to my v60. It was much more ergonomicly designed in my opinion.

Honestly, I was hoping to have more fun with this phone.

The camera is less than I was hoping for. I expected somewhat decent photos, but what is the point of a camera that takes pictures of shadows? Why even bother include it. Motorola hyped the camera 1.2 MegaPixel... Well, what good is a higher resolution of black shadows?

Well, I am done ranting... but I think I may return it and wait for an update to the phone, like the 73...
