Video playback on PCs....

Hey guys,

I am definitley warming up to this phone. I didn't like it all that much at first, but now that I am used to the text messaging changes and new button layout I am starting to like it a lot more.

Vid questions:

1. What format are these vids stored in? I thought they were in MPEG4, but Windows Media can't play them, Real can't play them, only Quicktime. Am I doing something wrong? Can they be easily converted? What is 3GPP2?

2. Does sending a video via the phone count as a pic message or do you need another service plan to send vids?

So refreshing to get some high quality people on here asking and answering technical questions now that all the yo-yos have gotten their phones and are gone.

I do like the humor in your response...but yep...that is the kind of response we built about 200 pages of in the last 6 months. 😉

Thanks h34d. I sent one to my "pix place" a few hours ago and it has yet to arrive.

Anyone else notice when you send a video it shows up in the outgoing message (last screen before you hit send) as "slideshow"? What does that mean? Is there another way to send video?

I have pulled my transflash card out and sent it that way, but I would like to be able to use the feature the way it was designed...

Thank you for the link. That was helpful. Going one step further - does anyone know how to convert these files to either MPEG 4 or WMV?

Thanks,

Dan
