Changing Picture ID to read from Transflash

gotv710

I recently received my trans flash card and transfered pictures to it.

I want these pictures to be associated with the entries in my phone book so that when the phone rings the picture comes up.

When I try to do this, however, I am only allowed to select from the pictures that are stored on my phone, not on the trans flash card.

If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know.

Thanks.

I used transflash to bring pictures from my computer to the phone, for phonebook pics. Just converted the pics to 166x162 resolution on the computer (you won't see any higher resolution to this when the phone rings) and saved as JPEGs (made about 10KB files). After copying the pics to the shared folder on the transflash card, I moved them to the phone's internal memory in the Media Gallery.

If you are asking how to use the pics directly off the transflash, without moving them to the internal memory, I'm not sure if this is possible. But since I can fit a lot of 10KB images in internal memory, this was not...

Thanks for the help!!!

When moving mid files to the phone for ring tones do you need to move them to the internal memory also?

Thanks again for replying.

Anyone else know about if you can have active rings stored on the transflash card?

So far it seems that the only way to associate a picture with a caller is to move it onto the phone memory from the trans flash card.

Let me know if the same is true for rings or if anyone has figured out other ways around this.

Thanks for any and all help.
