Mine will freeze up if I insert it and then try to go to Audio clips. You have to close the phone and it will take you back to your home screen. I might just start turning the phone off to insert the card. I hope this is something that can be fixed when the software is updated.

I tried to insert the card then turn the phone on it wouldn't do anything, but I just spoke to tech support and they said they know about the problem and when the upgraded software(supposedaly begining of Sep) comes out it should be fixed.

I have found with Mac that if you load any photo's that have been altered with iphoto etc... it will freeze. Another issue is when access the card with OS X it leaves .files everywhere and the phone OS doesn't know what to do with them and it will freeze. I did find a program on the internet that gets rid of the .files on the card before you put it in your phone. Go here to get it:

If you are using Windows... I don't have a clue.

Yes, I had that problem when using a cheap silver 6 in 1 usb 1.0 card reader I got from office max.

Using a sandisk 8 in 1 2.0 usb reader it is fine.

I have a similar problem with an Siig 6 in 1 reader. The only way I could recover from the lockup was to power down and up again, then format the memory in the fone.

Another clue that there was a problem was the file names were garbled when viewing them on Windows Explorer. My reader works perfectly when using a standard SD device.

I had pretty much given up with the reader, and figured that the next version of Phone Tools would take care of the problem, but based on Level2's reply, I think it's time to pick up another SD card reader and try again.

For Windows, from a Command Prompt do a chkdsk /f or from My Computer right mouse click on the TransFlash card and select Properties, go to the Tools tab and under Error-Checking, click Check Now. Make sure Automatically Fix Errors is checked and press Start.

This will fix the problems without having to format so your existing files will be preserved.
