Mobile Phone Tools 2.0 and Question for Level 2 or anyone who owns V710
Also, how do you transfer pictures from the phone to your computer if you are not using something like Mobile Phone Tools. The same thing goes with mp3s and other multimedia. I know people have been able ...

Send your pictures or videos to PixPlace (its an option it gives you) and then go to the www.verizonwirless.com and when you log into the picture messaging website, your pictures should be in the inbox. Very convenient.
Everybody who read the ads on moto and verizon who can't xfer media files via MPT needs to call, write and hassle both these companies for ripping us off.

I have a few questions that I'm wondering if anyone can answer. First of all, I bought the USB data connection kit for the V710 which came with Mobile Phone Tools 2.0. When I tried to connect the phone it recognized it was the V710, however, then nothing worked and it could not transfer any data. (Level 2, I thought I remembered the V710 working with your mobile phone tools and it showing the V710 on the computer screen after you connected it.) If anyone knows how to fix this or get some sort of update or something that'd be great.Thanks.

2- Update the USB driver. Go to your device manager and update the USB driver (you might see it as a big "?" in the list... Do a manual search for the driver -- You will find it here: program filesmobile PhoneToolsinf
I just did this, and I can move the phone book and calendar between my computer and Phone. You can see the 710 on your screen.
As far as photos go, I don;t have my T-Flash card yet, so I can't help you there.
I have the Moto USB cable and Mobile Phone Tools version 2.0. I have followed the above instructions and still ...

With your phone connected:
Start/control panel/system/harware(tab)/device manager
I'm not sure where the phone was located (I have it set up at my office; I'm home now) -- Check in the USB Controllers - click on the "+" to the left of each line - until you find the big yellow "?"... It should make sense as to where it is.
Right click on the line, and selecet "Update Driver"
Click on "Install from a specific location"
Click on "Browse" and browse to \program files\mobile PhoneTools\inf
Follow the rest of the instructions -- it should pick out the driver and the big yellow "?" will go away.
Please post your results.

I followed npitlor's instructions, and it worked like a charm for me. I was having the exact same problems as you BJJ. Are you sure that yo followed the steps exactly as npitlor listed them?
I've tried it exactly following npitlor's instructions and I've tried it following the included instructions. It always says "windows was unable to locate a driver for this device". I'm at a loss. Maybe it's my computers OS (windows 98se).
Problem: Windows 2K Mobile Phone Tools 2.21f not recognizing Motorola v710 with USB Cable, because it was connected before the software said to connect it and the wrong driver got installed and you can not get it to take the right driver no matter what you do.
Step 1
Step 1:
Open device manager and right-click the Motorola v710 USB device,
Select properties.
Step 2:
Click the Driver tab
Click update driver or reinstall.
Step 3:
Check “search for a suitable driver”, click next
Step 4:
Uncheck all the boxes, click next
Step 5:
Have a look at the results and note the location and name of the “inf” file.
Step 6:
Open Explorer and locate and c...
