I'm a VZW Sales Rep. I got this info from one of my techs would held a meeting about new phones coming out. He told me that the 710 has a real problem with its blue tooth capabilities. He said it has a problem syning with other blue tooth items such as headsets and you have to keep resetting the syncs up ever 2 weeks or so. He also said that the blue tooth was designed to only sync with other Motorola items and WILL NOT WORK with car stereo like those found in Acura and BMW. This is the info I got for him. He said it is definatly worth waiting for the LG 8000 and Audiovox 9900. This is the info he told me. Just though I'd pass it on.

He knew that, he said that they will be similiar with the 1.2 mega pixel camera. He also stated that he expects the phone to have more problems then its worth. He said its going to be a T720 all over again. But the better part of the other two phones is the EVDO capability instead of 1X.

you know i really dont think verizon would release the phone with the bluetooth being bad ,since everybody wants the bluetooth!!!! so i dont believe it, SORRY!!!! but for me i just love motorola, we use them a my work and i have always loved them so no matter what iam getting this PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...
Apparently you didnt own a T720
...
I have the T720. Motorola hardware is good. It's the software that is hard to get right. especially with so many functions and cross references. If the v710 has problems they will be corrected in the firmware. I personally have had no real problems. I have noticed some panzies complaining about some very minor problem. Never really saw any big problems with my phone. I only have one problem, but I have dropped it so many times that I'm surprised I only have one problem. Plus bluetooth V1.2 is quite new.

It seems to me that if he knew what he was talking about he would have realized that the AVX 9900 does not support EV-DO. Check the link:
https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=407 »From what I have heard the Bluetooth implementation for headsets and Internet access in the V710 works quite well. We will see soon enough. If it doesn't float your boat you have 15 days to return it to a ...

If it doesn't float your boat you have 15 days to return it to a VZW store.
The more important question, however, is: can you return it within 15 days after having registered with Moto to get the free accessory?
...
Moto will probably require the UPC and receipt. If you have already sent it in then you can probably just exchange the phone under warranty issues.
...
Yes. Moto does not require you to send any original proof of purchase in to them. Promo items require you only to fill out an online form with serial number. At least that's how it was with the v600 BT giveaway.

The V710 bluetooth DOES work with the Acura TL, it is confirmed. The V710 is the best thing that ever happened to verizon, i dont see how you can even compare any motorola product to an LG product?!?
...
I would assume that if it does work with the Acura TL, it would work with a 300C (Chrysler UConnect). Can anyone confirm this?
...
Wonder if it will work with BMW's Bluetooth kit.

The bt works very well with the acura and bmw. your tech must have had a testing unit that did not get flashed with the new software/firmware. i've had the v710 for over 3 months, and only had to reset twice, and only when the battery ran out on the earpiece. i've tested the unit with many different types of bt devices. it works very well with the new firmware.
as for the audiovox 9900, it will most likely be cancelled. if not, it's time to rewrite the software from scatch.
...
thanks for squelching another rumor.
Have you used the "mobile phone tools 2.0" software to synch phonebook, calendar etc w/your pc? Can you do it w/cable or bluetooth?
Rumor on this board(based on downloaded manual) that it doesnt work/isnt compatible.
thanks

you can sync outlook w/mpt 2 with cable only. because of how bt is set up. as of now, it does not sync. look for more functions in mpt 3.

i've been testin other things. can't tell you what due to contractual restrictions. been looking in on this forum to say what people have to say. most of it is useless. every once in a while, someone does post some good information. others seem to post information that is not correct. and this forum has gotten way too long with personal attacks.
a few other things. w/transflash card you can record videos up to 3 min. you can transfer as large of a file as you want (as long as it will fit on the t-flash card) to the memory card w/sd adapter. i transfered a full length movie onto the t-flash card and was able to watch it on the v710. how i compressed the movie will be a topic of another forum. the movie did not look very good, bec...

sorry about grammer, wrong words, and spelling errors. trying to type and thinking of other things at the same time.

hey, not sure if you answered this somewhere else, but i heard that you cant transfer files onto the transflash card, can only transfer them off from the camera(original photos/videos taken and saved to the card). if this is true, how were you able to get a movie onto the camera? and also, you mentioned that mpt 3 will possibly be better, do you expect the bt will work with mpt 3 or will it be just as crippled and everyone should just forget about it and get a usb cable? it seems that the bt on the phone is what is crippled, not the software.
thanks

thank you.
I will skip the bluetooth computer adapter.
Why would anyone want it?
Have a cable from my Timeport 270c which I think is compatible.

You would most likely want it as an easy and wireless way to get online from a laptop (or your desktop if your normal internet connection fails)

Hey HHSdevlin- since you had a chance to try out the phone(beta testing) does the phone have situational lights just like the V600. Where the outside cover of the phone glows with every call and you can choose a color rep the group the call falls under.
...
Someone recently said it did. go research first before you ask. Its called a search and it's at the bottom of the page.
...
Yes it does have the lights on the outside case
...
No it doesn't. The lights on the outside are for the flash.
...
Thats obvious. But I'm pretty sure a v710 tester confirmed that it did.
...
You can set up your tones and the small screen for photo and colors, but no lights like the v600.
...
No, it doesn't do any of that. Pretty bland compared to the v600.

That's the line that invalidates the entire statement. In order to carry the Bluetooth logo, BY DEFINITION a Bluetooth device MUST work with other Bluetooth devices within the same profiles. That's 99% of why Bluetooth was created to begin with -- To assure interoperability.

My friend that works for a Verizon retailer has had the phone for a while now and he said (and I have used his) that the bluetooth is perfect and has been FLAWLESS since the 1st sync.
Also, it DOES work on the ACURA TL b/c I tried it on my car. Worked PERFECTLY.

I have the phone, and I have spent the whole night trying to sync via bluetooth on my laptop running xp, the phone is found and i can pair it, but the phone tools software just sits there. I have updated the software. and still no luck.

hmmm, i dont know about hooking it up to the PC but i do know that it works absolutely flawless with the headsets and the cars
...
I know that it does, but I haven't seen anyone sync phone numbers, I can't even sync with the usb cable
...
I have been able to sync my v710, with the latest software version, 8f, with many other BT headsets, phones, etc. But this is a 'restriction' that wont allow full use for file sharing. that would make it too easy to swap ringtones...
