Something that I was told by a Verizon Tech Help person....

There is no guarantee that Verizon will even decided to release this phone. I was told that they are considering discontinuing all Moto phones. Do you think that this is even rationale? Would Moto spend so much on R&D without some sort of promise from VZW???

Makes sense for VZW... look how much grief they have to deal with regarding just this one phone. Doesn't seem to be happening with any of their other manufacturers.

Although Moto wouldn't like it, I'm sure another provider wouldn't mind having exclusive rights to sell the v710 or other Moto products that would have been VZW's territory.

I wouldn't consider it likely, but at least makes some sense.

At this point there is a LOT of speculation from a LOT of people. And none of it means squat.

There's no guarantee that VZW will release ANY phone. But that doesn't mean it's not likely.

Just relax. The phone either be released or it won't. Pointless speculation (even from VZW tech people) doesn't mean anything.

I am currently using the Samsung a670...couldn't wait past June 21 for the v710.
The a670 is great, but no bluetooth. I will still get the 710 - if/when it comes out, then dump the Samsung on ebay (if the v710 is better).

Hope this helps....I always owned Moto's until this most recent purchase of the Samsung and it is clear, doesn't drop calls, and WORKS (the $30 price didn't hurt either).

Good Luck

the 7000 by far. It can send/recv videos easily and fast and the quality of sight n sound is phenomanal. Ive been sending n recv videos for 2 weeks now every day and its the coolest feature of a phone since my first phone ever. Its just so cool to send someone a video in a few seconds. At this point, even the 710 CAN NOT recv videos (read the posts on the 7000 thread)even those w updated software. It might b the reason for the 710 delay/release issues etc.

1) Ok, I dont have concrete info on Motorola, but all I know is that Motorola and LG are the two BIGGEST suppliers to Verizon. Why would they d/c all Moto phones? Makes no sense. As nice as the LG phones are, I feel nothing compares to the awesome reception that the Motorola phones receive.

2) The phone IS coming out. They ARE releasing it, and we have to be patient. As of right now, the release date is the 15th... Now, whether that means that the stores will have it on the 15th and will be holding it for another week to allow the LG phone to be in the spotlight for another week.... who knows, or it could mean that on Thursday, we will all be able to storm the Verizon stores.

3) I think what we all need to do is stop spec...
