Also - here's my latest reply from our friends at Moto. You notice how they say "please note that carrier availability is subject to testing and approval", does this set the release date back?
Also - if Moto did release the phone, but if Verizon didn't have it available, testing wasn't completed, and it wasn't approved, could I still buy it online, and activate it?

Probably, but Motorola wouldn't have a lot of reason to release a phone that only works with 2 carriers in the US without at least one of said carriers' approval. I suspect in order to hit reasonable sales numbers you need a contract with the carrier (to make development even worthwhile) and the sales muscle of thousands of VZW employees on your side. That said, I was able to activate a Sprint T608 on Verizon, so if the technology fits (i.e., CDMA) then it should work - unless Verizon actively prevents your serial number from activating.
