If verizon had the slightest clue how this was pissing off so many people they would stop dragging ass!!
I hate to say it, but it's not THAT many people. How many people have posted to this forum? 100? At most?
Add maybe another 100 or so on HOFO that post to the v710 threads, and maybe another 100 on other boards.
I would be suprised if more than 500 to 1,000 people REALLY care enough about the phone to get upset by a few months' delay.
Don't throw in the hundreds of thousands or millions who subscribed to the MOTO web site. A vast majority of those people don't care about the phone like you do. They are interested, not obsessed. To them, it will come out when it comes out....

They aren't pissed off because they don't know any better but they do pay a monthly bill and VZW loves that.

This phone was originally planned for June. At this point, it's only been "delayed" for a few weeks. But it's not really any "delay" at all. The key word in the first sentence is "planned". Every carrier has a testing process, and due to the complexity of the technology, testing delays are normal for the whole industry. "Planned" dates are rarely met - that's just the way it works.
Verizon's testing process is infamous for being more strict and taking longer than others, so for a typical Verizon phone, it is no surprise that the V710 isn't out yet. Six-month delays are not uncomm...

Yeah, Sure Verizon tests their phones well ... T720 ANYONE?! IT SUCKED! Yet they released it and well everyone found out how much it SUCKED. Shut up man, they obviously dont do a good enough job, so why even bother making us WAIT
What you just said doesn't make sense... There is a case where a phone might have been rushed to market, and you're upset.
Here's a case where the phone looks like it ISN'T being rushed to market, and you're STILL upset.
You can't have it both ways. Look at the T720 as lessons learned by VZW -- Lessons being applied to the v710.
BTW -- Wasn't the T720 one of the first phones to "up" the level of technology, and therefore the complexity? -- This was a questi...

What Rich said is RIGHT ON THE MARK! It's hardly delayed at all. All along the phone was "to be available mid-2004", which is July 1, which we are barely past. ANY 4 week swing on that to me means it's right on time, whether it came out a little early on like June 5th, or a little late like July 25th. With the posts by Alchemist it seems this phone will be basically right on time. Just be patient. Heck, I've been wanting a Bluetooth phone from Verizon since last Octob...

The T720 was an exception. It was intentionally rushed to market. Verizon didn't have any color-display phones at the time, but everyone else did, so they were under a lot of pressure to get one to market.
Shut up man,
âšī¸ Be nice.

Perhaps because they learned their lesson from the T720? đ
And I agree, the T720 was rushed to market because Verizon didn't want to go through the 2002 holiday season without an affordable color phone. They would have been the only major carrier without one. They had one color phone before that, the Sharp Z800, which was overpriced and bulky.
