VZW,
Its two days till the 6th. People have their hopes up pretty high. Between here, wireless advisor, and Hofo; no one seems to know ANYTHING about this phone coming out on the 6th. You still thinking it will be out this day? Nobody else seems to be able to confirm any aspect of a launch on the 6th. If it doesnt come out, you going to be around the forums that day... it might be bad (but, like the rest of the threads, I am sure it will be entertaining!)

I spoke with a higher up at Verizon the other day that is also a friend of my family. Verizon is currently having problems getting the bluetooth wrinkles ironed out. Word is that while in testing, it will not work with some of the OEM bluetooth systems in some of the new cars out there today. As we all know Verizon will not release a product until it is 100% working. This will save them money in support calls and dissappointed customers with phones that dont work.

Unfortunately this means that you can kiss July 6th goodbye. Figure they first have to fix the problem, then add at least 2 weeks to flash the software in all their production phones. If its a hardware issue, forget about it alltogether.

I am just as disappointed as I have w...

i've been lurking in this forum for about two months now and as with every other poster on this forum i've learned not to trust -anything- as of release dates. sure i'll take them into mind and kinda hope, but i also want official information atleast sometime around when that date comes around. and what with all the features of this phone, it'll take damn near forever to get it perfect. especially with vzw blocking so much of the stuff. (15sec vid clips only, no blue tooth syncing [so i've read]). as always, correct me if i'm wrong. i don't like giving false info. all we can really do is sit back and wait. that's it. besides, it's kinda like waiting for Episode 3....sure, it'll come out one of these days, but there's a good chance i...

Im sorry but im having a hard time believing that there is a problem with the Bluetooth. This is not motorolas first bluetooth phone so i would highly doubt that there is an issue with that.

As for it actually coming out on the 6th, who knows. I do trust VZWSales because his info has always been good in the past and i have no reason to doubt it now, I hope he is correct but even if he isnt he is still the best contact we have on this page

The one possibility for bt problems is most likely moto has seperate divisions for cdma, gsm, etc. If that is the case, they probably did one of two things.

1. Gave the bt code from the gsm phones to the cdma programmers, which could cause problems because the cdma programmers might not implement it properly as it's new to them.
2. Sent a gsm programmer over to the cdma department to help out. Once again, implementation could be faulty as the gsm programmer might not integrate it properly with the cdma software.

I do doubt every date that has been listed. I am not saying that I don't wish they are right, but I have a hard time believing that any real date will be released given that there is a free promo for the first 710 customers...

As an owner of a Motorola BT phone (2 270c's, 3 BT backs, and 2 motorola BT headsets), I would not be the least bit surprised if BT was one of the holdups. One of the biggest issues with the 270C was compatibility with other vendors' products (which is one of the major reasons for using BT, of course).

Perfectly understandable that Verizon doesn't want too many support calls about "why doesn't this v710 you sold me work with XYZ; I want a refund/new phone/cancel service/number transfer/etc." - thi...

So when the 6th rolls around it seems as if it'll be another Lie Busted but I suppose the real question is if VZW Sales will be around then?

I'm definitely not going to loose all faith in the guy, even VZW Employee was completely wrong by making a thread stating that the Audiovox 9900 was coming out on June 25th when there was no information on shipments or any information on infomanager. Mistakes can be made and i'll just take this one as another mistake and every once in a while people can relay the wrong information.

Who knows maybe another 3 firmware versions later, it'll finally be ready to roll.
