Anyone else sorta screwed themselves like I did?

Anyone else planning on buying the phone at full retail price because their contract isn't near the end?

If so, what are your thoughts, suggestion, comment?

Yes, the next phone I will get I will be paying full retail for it whether it's the v810 or the v710. I pretty much get a new phone every 8-10 months just because I like having the newest phone and I plus I hate seeing a large amount of people with the same things I have. That's just me. I say if you really like the phone then buy it. As my father says, "It's only money."

I'm in a weird situation too.
I lost my VX4400 (ancient but sweet) on "The Raptor" at Cedar Point. heh...
But I still have a year left on my contract.
I lucked out tho, because Verizon has a plan where if anyone w/ a non camera phone can end his/her contract early if you purchase a new camera fone with a 2 year agreement that costs equal to or more than your previous plan.
Now... I have to find a way to survive w/o a cell phone for couple of weeks...

This is getting off-topic, but did you check with lost and found? --I lost my glasses on Millenium a few years ago, and they turned up a few days later there.

🙂 I have the same problem, I've got my LG VX 6000 (2 years contract) for 5 months from last January, and I know that Verizon will release the new Motorola V710. What I am going to do is, since my mom does not have a cell phone, so I am going to add another line to my plan which I will have to pay another extra $20 dollars. So my mom can call me any time she wants. My mom likes to talk at nite and on weekend, I don't have to worry about she is using my mins. In fact, I love Verizon and I can not leave Verizon, the most reliable, good service and excellen signal cell phone company in US.
I will buy the new Motorola V710 with one year contract. When Verizon releases new phones, I will get those new phones by resign contract or upgrade it ...

That is exactly what i've been trying to explain to everyone. Most of us are locked into those contracts with phones like the vx6000, a610 and a530 so there is no point in us every caring what the contract price will be. Just for hopes the 2 yr will probably be $249 - $299 while the 1 yr will probably be $299 - $349.

Anyone who thinks it will be $199 - rebates is out of their mind, that wouldn't make it competitively priced with the vx7000, a670, and 9900. If you want more then you pay more, that is usually the general rule. So anyone who is out of their contract and thinking they're going to get it for a steal for $199 - rebates, which be be available a few weeks after the release, they are mistaken big time. All people have to do is be...

dont worry, b happy...

UPGRADE AFTER ONE YEAR IN CONTRACT IF:

u can upgrade after 1 yr if ur phone's price plan is 49.99 (which is an early upgrade for those good ol verizon customers) or u can upgrade u can ask to move ur plan up to the 49.99 plan wen u go to do the upgrade (im assuming upgrade prices will b the same, as they are in the store i work at) if ur on a family plan u will have to break off from that plan and go to 49.99 plan.

it sounds bad but after ur first bill or 45 days i think it is, u can switch it bak to wutever u had it at.

remember this is after ONE YEAR of being in contract and i kno im rite, now it all depends on ur verizon dealer whether or not they will b selling the upgrade price of the fone for the sam...

If you were referring to my last post where I bashed the 2 year contracts, I already know about this early upgrade program. In fact, if you go back to the first few pages of this forum, you'll see where I posted the upgrade rules including the one about the early upgrade program. I spoke to a customer service rep about it and they told me that the early upgrade program was only supposed to be available for a limited time and could be discontinued any time. The bad thing about the early upgrade program is that you have to commit to another 2 years so you're still locked into a long term contract.

this is why I only sign up for 1 year contracts. You can upgrade at the subsidized
phone price at month 10.

you pay $30 more for the phone - but big deal.
it's a hell of a lot cheaper than paying
full retail when you got 22 months to wait.
