I called Verizon today and the customer service rep. new nothing of the settlement. Is this just ignorance or is the claim yet to be made public?

When does this take effect?

Thanks,
Ed

The author of this forwarded email works for the law firm handling the case. Look at the date:

I have seen the post that specifies that the settlement applies only to V710 purchases before 2/1/05. Has that been varified? You would think that it would apply to all V710 owners because nothing has been done different with the V710 after 2/1/05.

The Class Arbitration was already filed by then, the new Customer Agreements were in effect then too "THIS AGREEMENT DOESN'T PERMIT CLASS ARBITRATIONS..."

Also, the advertising disclaimers were in effect by then. I guess there becomes a point where you can't buy a phone and make a claim anymore.

Out of curiosity is there any relief or credit to customers that purchase the V710 after 2/1/05? I haven't read the settlement agreement yet. I would think a settlement signed by a Judge would override an Agreement setforth by Verizon. But I guess it depents on what both parties agree too.

ps. Thanks for your info on your previous post

No, that appears to be the cutoff date.

The settlement agreement is cut off at before 2/1/05 because the suit was due to the way that Verizon was representing the phone, not the capabilities of the phone. When Verizon added the disclaimers and quit misrepresenting the bluetooth capabilities, they removed the reasons for the suit. Thusly only those who purchased the phone before 2/1 need apply. 🙂
Bluetooth didn't change and still was crippled after 2/1, but Verizon was not selling it as full featured after that date.

Questions,
I have Eloqui Wireless, I purchased the V710 recently without any knowledge of a lawsuit. I was told that I could send pictures and text messages without a delay or problems, this is not the case. The people who have Verizon service phones do not receive the messages or pictures though the my phone indicates that they were sent. I in return am not able to receive messages from them. The phone was taken to a service tech three times now. Any ideas?
Thanks

The lawsuit is for Verizon Wireless customers and it relates ONLY to Bluetooth capabilities. This has nothing to do with sending/receiving txt/pic messages.
