Hey, ok I have the V710. Actually, I have one from the first batch out. Well I noticed that all of a sudden something is going on with it. It seems to be resetting itself. First the screen goes blank, then it comes up with no service, and then finally it gets service again.

Have you had Verizon flash the phone with the new software version.. Does this happen specifically when checking text messages... When you click on inbox and then a message.. I am on my 3rd phone doing this... Motorola says they are unaware of this issue.. VZW has swapped my phone 3 times for this issue.. Tech support has no idea..

This happens anytime. It can happen when I start the internet browser. It happens when I open the inbox. Hell it even happened when I was in a phone call. I havent had it flashed because I heard that the phone lost features after the first software edition and since I use it as a modem for my computer sometimes I dont want to loose that functionality.

The only function disabled by the flash is trans-flash transfer of audio files 👿 but there are ways around this 😁 . Your connection to the internet should be fine 😎 .

I'm also on my third phone. Happens almost every time I get a txt message or voice-mail notification. Software upgrades didn't help and getting a spankin new replacement phone didn't help either. (though the time it takes for the phone to reboot itself on the newer phone is quicker, yay.) Cust. support tells me to go pick out a comparable phone to "switch out" with at the store. Any comparables out there?

No comparable phones... I replaced mine again... VZW said they needed to charge me this time, the lady said cost is $100.00 and that is what she charged me, plus shipping for an exchange.... Received the new phone, and guess what... 5th text message and the phone locked up, screen went black, no service and then restarted... VZW said they have replaced it enouth... Said I am the ONLY one who has reported this issue.. Talked to tech support and they said get another phone... They suggested the Treo 650 and would only charge me $599.00... Not - I am not going to pay to replace a phone that is truly defective... They then offered the Samsung SCH-A670 for $299.00... Yea, right... I said send the 7th replacement... Have invested too much in bluet...

Did you have insurance on your phone? That's one of the reasons I hate verizon... Always giving you the run around.

First time I had this problem, I thought it started after I dropped the phone so I filed for insurance and $50 later I got a new one. a week into it, same problem. VZW said I needed a software upgrade so I got it and the tech at the store said all should be fine now. They even sent me a text message free of charge while I was there to prove it. Of course, nothing happened. Then, as if on cue, every other message after that would screw the phone up.

Last time I went to the tech support desk at the store, the tech told me there was nothing wrong with the phone after performing all their tests. She told me if I could re-create the problem in front of them, they'd reconsider. So I got my friend to txt msg me every 20 seconds and sure e...

Question - does everyone having this prob have the transflash card? Mine starting this exact problem a week or so ago. Took it into store for replacement (removed transflash first). They reset, etc (couldn't flash, their machine was broke) and they ordered me a replacement (they didn't have any in stock). Sometimes after I had problems, I had to take the batt out to fix, so while waiting for new phone, left batt out all night. Voila, phone started working perfectly for 3 straight days. Then on Fri, I put TF back in for weekend trip, and phone started acting up again! After 2 days acting up, I thought HMMM only coincidence - TF card. So I took card out, took batt out all night, and phone now works again 2 days straight. Replacement p...

Tried it with and without the transflash card... Happened both times... The new replacement lasted 5 text messages and then started locking up... With the last phone, I did not customize anything... Left it as is, and after 5 text messages, it started... Somehow I was able to delete the messages, and it was fine for a couple days.. Another talk with Motorola has indicated that are still unaware of the problem, but they also said several of the phones issues are directly due to VZW demanding the software modifications.. I asked if they would flash my phone with the Motorola Software, and they said they would love to, but VZW won't allow it...

Anyone have any idea's???

For kicks, I called VZW customer and tech support on this issue.. I w...
