I'm using a SanDisk TransFlash 128MB card to transfer images and ringtones from my computer to my phone. On my first V710, this worked with no problem.

I recently had to get a replacement V710. I am able to transfer images with no problem. I cannot, however, transfer any ringtones over. I can see the ringtones on the TransFlash card, but when I hit the Menu button, it does not give me any Copy or Move option.

I tried deleting all the folders from the TransFlash card, and starting the process over, and still no Copy or Move.

I tried formatting the TransFlash card (FAT, not FAT32), started the process over again, and still no luck.

The files were created utilizing the iTunes method of converting and saving. What I can't unde...

Different firmware. The new firmware update from Verizon disables the copy function. Your second phone must have the newer firmware.

Don't worry... the problem is not a function of your computer or your TF card...

There are work arounds available. I don't know them b/c I still have the original firmware. Do a search and you'll find plenty of info.

What firmware versions allow transfer to and from the transflash?

What firmware versions do not allow transfer to and from the transflash?

How can I revert to a previous firmware version?

To change back to the old firmware you would need a cable and the Motorola PST software. It just so happens that these are the main two things you need for the seem edit, and the seem edit gives you all of the advantages of the new software (greater stability, connects with more BT cars, etc...) and still lets you transfer your ring tones and MP3s.
Links to web pages that explain the process as well as premade seems are here.
