I just spoke with my local retail sales rep at Verizon who confirmed that Verizon corporate has ordered all v710 phones to be returned as the repair to the cameras was not sufficient.

They weren't specific other then to say the camera is still at the heart of the recall issue.

Frankly, I could care less about the camera - I just want the phone and can't even get one. :'(

I live in short hills so on friday i went to the union store and exchange my v710 with the crooked camra for a new one. The new works fine. Although, when i was there they did give a little bit of a hard time but then finally gave me a new phone.

If this is true and not just a rumor. I think there's only one way VZW will be able to fix this problem. Step 1. Recall every single V710 out there, even the broken ones. Step 2. Pile them up in a big deserted place. Step 3. Pour gasoline, kerosene, any potent flammable fluid on them. Step 4. Muster every person who owned one, or even thought about buying one, (me included) to the even of the year. Step 5. Set them on fire slowly for the enjoyment of all. No tears allowed on the site of the event.

Yes, all true; checking up on the story, I called another area V retail store and was told they are not permitted to sell the v710 right now. They suggested it is a software issue.

I am going to lean on my corporate mobile phone folks to get the corporate response from Verizon on this issue tomorrow. We have an enterprise level agreement with them; i should be able to come up with some decent information.
