Help with iSync please!
I need help on how iSync works with the v710, and as we all know, if you even whisper "third party product" at apple support you get the generated response. I am trying to easily setup and update my phones contacts. I realize that you can't transfer the categories in Addressbook all at once.... but what I thought would happen was to sync one category at a time and create categories on the phone thereafter. No, it appears that my iSync (all latest updates) is not merging data beyond the initial reset of the phone. If I sync a category and then put all entries into one in the phone, hoping that the next sync will put the new numbers alongside the old ones, it will just wipe that work and put just the new #'s. I thought this whole merging ...

Although its no help to you, i was under the assumption you couldnt sync your phone book into the apple. If you find out please post something with big letters that you know, id love to sync my phonebook... but then again, i know so little...

Doing many searches on the very rudimentary search engine this site provides on a 28.8k internet connection takes me about 2 hours. I'd rather ask for a little help from those who are willing to provide patience. After all, forums like these are all to eager to delve into enflamed rumor mongering and can sometimes get away from what IMO they're good for.... helping people with problems. Especially since it's really the only way to get any answers because, like I said, manufacturers wont tell you how to do it. Where are you with a 28k connection? Not that I am all that savvy, but isn't the slowest dial-up connection usually about 56K?
Anyway, if that is the case, sorry. Currently the V710 cannot sync anything bluetooth. You can probably get the cable and make it work.
The rumor is that at the end of the month, a software upgrade will be coming out to correct the bluetooth that will sync contact, but probably won't sync photos. Therefore, you should get the cable anyway unless you pay for the pics plan.

It's theoretically 56k, but out in the boonies, I'm really only ever getting 28.8 out of it.

I was talking about the capability of syncing (with USB) my contacts to the phone and how I can't get it to do it the way I want. I'm not sure where to ask the question that someone will answer it, but as I said, Apple or Moto are not the place.

Hey Chandra. If it makes you feel better, I'm having the same trouble. I was hoping (and assuming, foolishly) that the V710 would sync two-ways. However, any changes I make on the V710 do NOT show up on my Mac after syncing via USB in iSync. At first I thought that this might be due to the fact that my contacts took up all the room on my V710 (memory full), and therefore it never got to syncing my info to my Mac (doesn't make sense, but NONE of this does!! THIS IS ALL EASY STUFF MOTO and VZW!!!!..UGH!!!).

I have been using OnSync for some time. Works great with usb cable. Will sync both ways.
