Using the TF card you can put mp3's on your phone then move the whole song to the phones memory. If you have a program that lets you edit a mp3 and save it than you can transfer the clip to the memory and move to the phones memory to make it a ringtone.

Great job with the steps. I asked this question in the past and I don't understand why everyone says to "Uncheck the hide extensions for known file types." You don't have to change the extension from .mp3 to .mid because the phone supports .mp3 format.

Just make sure you shorten the name of the song because people have had issues in the past.

Have fun 😈

The extension change is because VZW has set up their mail servers to strip any extensions except for .mid, .jpg, .txt and .3gp. The phone actually reads the file regardless of the extension and if it is valid will play it. If you send a file with any other extension it won't show up in the message. This is all just

Itunes defaults to AAC which is MPEG4 audio. Go to iTunes preferences under the Edit menu, Click on the Importing tab, set Import Using: to MP3 Encoder and settings to custom. When you select custom another dialog will pop up and you can set the bit rate to 64 or 96 kbps and channels to Mono. This works well for ring tones. Then hit ok and follow the other steps to convert your clip.

Just make sure you remember to change the bit rate settings back to a higher quality stereo...

Thanks.... works great...

the songs doesnt have to be 30 seconds. i have songs i put on the phone that are a monute long and it plays all the way through. if u want a semi easy way to do it.
first use musicmatch to change it into a WAV format. then use the sound recorder on the computer to cut it the way u want . lastly, go back to musicmatch to convert the new file to 96 bitrate in mp3 format.
