OK I know this will be the same question as asked before..but, I asked a verizon sales person how to dl mp3's they didn't know..then I emailed Moto..they said the function was disabled by carrier. The whole point is this...can you play Mp3's as ringtones, and do they lag or play default ringtones first? Any inside would help finalize my choice.
Thanks

Instead of left clicking to listen to the song, right click, go to save as and save it to your desktop...

Free 30 sec ringtones-mp3
by nine178 Oct 15, 2004, 10:04 PM

I dont know if you all know about this 30 sec mp3 free music clip trick or not, but here it is. I can not take credit for this, I actually found it on another forum and think its worth spreading.
For free 30 sec mp3 music:
-Go to Walmart.com, search under Music, do any kind of specific search like sound effects or broad search like rock.
-Click on any album and scroll down, walmart allows you to listen to 30 seconds of almost every song on every album.
-To listen first just left click on the side on the song where it says "mp3 audio" winamp will pop up and al...

Heres some mp3 help from the 9900 forum, its a little different from my directions.

HOW TO GET mp3's ON YOUR 9900 - TUTORIAL

by gumby Yesterday, 8:53 PM

****FIRST*****
Go to "my computer", and find "Folder Options..." in the drop down menu. It's either under "View" or "Tools", depending on which version of Windows you have. Once you get in to Folder Options, click on the "view" tab. In "view", UNCHECK the box that says "Hide file extensions for known file types".

2. Go to www.walmart.com, click on the "music" tab, and search for the artist / song that you want. Click on the album title when you find what you want, and check out the songs listed.

3. Right-click on the song that you want to have on your phone. Cho...

If you own this phone with the original software, it is very easy to use mp3 as ringtones. All you need is a simple SD card reader, and the transflash card. Unfortunately, if you take advantage of VZW trading out your phone for the crooked camera, or get the software/firmware flash that some idiot is offering all of you, you probably will submit to VZW and have this feature disabled. You can even search on line, and get some freeware to be able to cut, and edit songs, to develop your ringtones to your liking.

If you want step-by-step instructionson how to compose, and use your OWN mp3 tracks as ringtones, email me at trueshowstoppa@hotmail.com.
This will only work if your phone has NOT been further crippled by VZW by receiving a firmware upgrade, or trading in your phone for a new one to remedy your "crooked camera" issue. If you have a crooked camera, live with it. Just act as if you didn't have your V8 juice this morning!

Hey All I have been doing this for some time now and I have got it down to a scince. You can use any MP3 on your PC so long as you do two things 1) Cut it down to 30 sec. I sugest DL I-Tunes for this it works great, 2) Chang the Ext of the file from mp3 to .midi Im usualy online with yahoo Mesenger screen name Knighthawk00005 or you can e-mail me with the same screen but it woul be easyer to IM me as I could walk you threw the steps.
