No Recall?

I contacted VZW customer service yesterday and inquired about the recall. The official word from a customer service rep was that there was no such recall on the V710. I explained that I heard there was a recall because of a poorly mounted camera and that I did a test to see if my phone was defective... which ultimately proved that it was. He connected me with a Motorola rep which gave me the same response. She told me that if there was such a recall she and her employees would be the first to know. I asked the VZW rep before he got off the phone to notify me if any official word of a recall surfaces. I told him that I know they issue "corporate responses" even if they fully know that there is a recall. He told me again that this was h...

you know I find it funny that every time ANYONE calls customer service to complain about something/anything on this phone - they always say that this is the first time they have heard of such a problem. When if you read this forum (or any other V710 forum) there are several people who have called Verizon CS to complain about one thing or another. They all say that there have been NO NEGATIVE complaints about the V710. This alone should tell you that they are all full of $hit, and that they hide the problems from the customers to make you think you are the only one with issues.

hey guy - did you even read my post - I'm not even talking about the recall. I'm talking about the fact the Verizon CS tells everyone that there are no issues that they or any other CS has heard of, when in fact there obviously are. Either the Verizon CS don't communicate with each other - or they feed everyone a line of BULL$HIT to keep the wool pulled over their eyes and make them think they have the only phone with problems. I know for a fact that I have called CS concerning a few issues, and every issue the CS said they had never heard of such a problem. Yet when I go to V710 forums I read about many other people who called with the same problems.

Well I hate to tell you this but the motorola customer support girl that I spoke to said that she had no knowledge of a recall by Motorola. Why is it that both companies are trying to cover this thing up?

I talked to a CS rep last night and I asked him abotu the recall, he said there is no such thing. The whole time while he was telling me this, his voice had the tone that he was covering something up, hesitant responces and stuttering while looking for the right choice of words..

Then I called back and talked to another guy and he basically said to bring the phone to any store that has a service center and they would replace it if the camera is indeed misaligned.. too abd there's no stores in NJ that have the phone with a straight camera. heh.

Any idea when the phone will be re-released in stores? I don't want to waste going there only to pick up another sh**ty phone.

On a side note... I love how verizon claims that once we complain about a problem it becomes there problem. Worry Free Guarantee my a**. Just admit there's a problem and address it without giving me the run around.

You guys have to remember that probably not all regions are recalling the v710. They may have tracked down the problem to a certain batch of phones that were sent out to some regions. So it could be that some regions are recalling it and some are not... 😳

New York City stores said they will have new phones on Monday. This is probabably BS, since all Verizon CS say something different. I suggest you all get on the same page. Each person tells a different story. I will press hard to get a different phone or my money back entirely, especially after misrepresenting the bluetooth functionality. This was the final straw, as I already dealt with the T720 which was a piece of ****. NathanNJ, i would stop trying to cover for all the other employees. One CS rep told me that he has never heard of the problem and that they are selling the phones on the website right now. Another told me that I was the first o complain about any issues including the camera. Another told me that there was a proble...

Not trying to cover for everyone else.. if they don't know, they're retarted or something. I have posted many times on here the email from VZW methods and procedures that says it will happen on the 29th. If others cant read that, I"m sorry. But everyone on here says there getting stories form everyone even moto saying all kinds of stuff, but I'm on here with proof VZW knows about it and it is suppose to be correcter on the 29th.

Is MOTO fixing the old phones or I they shipping newly manufactured phones. I was also curious if I would be able to switch models instead of taking a new phone.

In the northeast area, they are suppose to receive the new phones on the 29th. They will have a blue dot on the box indicating it is fixed phone.

They have not said if they are truly fru phones or new ones.

Unless its before your 15 day trial period (wfg), you can only swap it out for the same make and model.

Now, this is something most might not know. If you have swapped ou...

Overview

Verizon Wireless has identified an issue with a limited number of Motorola V710 cameras that are not mounted to specifications. This can result in a photo where the object appears noticeably crooked or tilted.

Adam,

I'm not sure I understand what is going on. Are consumers returning phones to you specifically complaining about camera tilt? I always thought a user would focus on the target and snap a pic and not focus the orientation of their hand. If no returns, why would you return your inventory? Do you think if you applied that screen to any camera phone, would you get a 100% pass rate? I'm confused.

Yesterday, I went into a VZW store in Manhattan on the Upper East Side and they did not have the V710 on display. I then went to the Tech Support counter and was told it is "quarantined", as the tech phrased it. He said that th camera tilt issue is why they no longer have the phone out. He then went on to say that VZW will be sending letters to all customers. The letter will have instructions of how to go about swapping out the phone for a non-tilted one.

Just to be on the safe side, I went into another VZW store in midtown today and although they did have it on display and for sale, the Tech Suppor

I'm really not buying the region thing. There are posts all over this forum from the midwest, northeast, and other parts of the country that have the same tilted camera as me.

I'm at least happy to hear that VZW techs around my area are aware of the problem and relaying the info to customers. Hopefully I'll get my letter soon. Thanks for the help Shurick!!

Good Luck all V710 users!!

Those are not credible sources. Why don't you also quote the Star and Enquirer as well? One of them didn't even have a representative picture of the phone, it was a different phone... 🤣
