The sapsuckers at Verizon finally did it!
New v710s that are being sold now have the "Apply as Ringtone " feature disabled 😕
...
regarding my last thread, the feature was disabled for the mp3 ringtones that you create.

I've been doin it with midi ringtones for a couple of weeks now. Just store it on UR computer, pull up the music file right click on the tone and scroll down to "mail recipient", use "yourphonenumber@vzwpix.com". Once its sent read the message, and choose store only for the ringtone. Name it and thats it. If it can be done with midi's than it should be possioble with mp3's no?

hhmmm... i must be doin somethin wrong cause i tried it as a .mid file and it didnt work and i tried it as a .mp3 and still nothin!?!?!? cant they make this stuff any easier...lol

Cuz i like the real music ringtones not that dumb polyphonic ringtone stuff. Well the only thing i can think of is buy the TF card keep downloading all the songs u want the mp's and save it both to ur phone and ur TF card so if anything happings to ur phone and they give u the new module V710s u can take the TF card out and put it in ur new phone and atleast those songs will be saved if u really c...

That should imply a new software version:
8700_01.30.8F seems to be everybody's version for now.... Could you post what the version is in the phone that you're using?
(in case you need to know where to get this, use: phone-info...other-information...S/W-version)
