The data cable from Radio Shack, 17-792 for the LG6000 (say FutureDial Cable 19 on the box), works fine. This is a USB to Serial cable, and it needs a driver. The driver for the LG6000 will also work with the VX3200, and I downloaded the USB driver installer from:

The cable that RS used to sell under that number was a USB-to-Serial cable; they are kept the same part number but have started shipping a straight USB cable. (See discussion on the Bitpim website).
The straight USB cable will charge the battery of a VX3200 (which the USB-to-serial cable won't do) but I have not seen any software that works with the VX3200 using a straight USB cable, and have not found any source of drivers that will let Windoze recognize a VX3200 as a USB device.
