I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING THAT GOES WRONG WITH YOUR PHONE BY DOING THIS MODIFICATION. FOLLOW THESE STEPS EXACTLY AND DO NOT PLAY AROUND IN THIS MENU UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!

That being said, I did this and compared it with another a670 ringer volume and it was definitely louder. The value that you are changing is basically a multiplier for the volume settings.

1) Type in 47*68#13580 into your phone (Don't press #29 at anytime, it will kill your phone)
2) Type #99
3) Scroll down to "CMX QSYNTH" in that menu
4) Adjust the volume by typing 012
5) Hit the OK button on your phone
6) Type #02 to restart your phone
7) Adjust the volume to 3 or 4 b/c 5 will probably damage the phone.

OK I did it but now it's too loud! I turned the volume on the phone down to 1 but it's still blasting. Anyone know how to change this option back??

Is there an implied "hit the OK button" each of these steps, or does it just go on its own ???

Nope, don't hit OK. As you do each step you'll see that it automatically saves it or whatever. I even accidentally entered the wrong # at one point and I just skipped to the "restart phone" command at the very end.
