If anyone is using a head set with a push button on it, what effect does it have on the phone when its pressed with the flip closed? Specifically does it activate the voice command? Can the button also be used to hang up the call?

I bought the samsung headset for this exact purpose.

You can answer and end calls with the button.

If the phone is closed and you press the button it will go to the last call on your "call list"...so the last person you talked with.

I cannot get the button to activate the voice dialing, which is what I want and what the samsung website said it could do. The voice recognition software is definitely a step above all the rest.

I have emailed samsung but heard no response yet.

Anybody else been able to get this feature to work???

I had a generic ear-bud headset that I bought at Walgreen. As near as I figure it, the microphone button will activate the voice dial function if you hold it down for about a second, and then release it. Sorta like when you hold down the "*" key.

Hope this helps.

I also posted this question on the HOFO. Looks like it can be done. Here is a copy of one of the replies.
" Voice Activation Dialing will work. I bought the headset off the Samsung web site (listed under the a670 section of accessories), so I can't vouch for other headsets with buttons.
But I had to make an adjustment on the phone to make it work -
Under Menu,
(9) Voice
(3) Voice Setup
(1) Set Active
Choose the last option, "[*]/EarMic"

Once that's done, with the headset you can answer, end, and initiate calls all without opening the phone."

I went to the Samsung website to look for the accessories...all I found was the phone itself with a list of what accessories to go with the phone, but no links to purchase or see the accessories further...do you have a direct link?

Thanks in advance!

try this link:

http://www.samsungusa.com/cgi-bin/nabc/product/b2c_p ... »

and click "buy now" at the bottom of the screen.

if that doesnt work just go to the samsung website (http://www.samsungusa.com) and then go to the 670's website. from there click "accessories" and then scroll to the bottom where you will see a link to "buy now"
