Has anyone successfully downloaded ringers from eringers.com for the a670? I tried a couple and used different formats, but none were accepted. I get error 406: Not Acceptable

Any ideas or help?

okay.. here goes, i got this info from the vx6000 forum, but it works just fine with the 670.

1. go to eringers.com
2. log in or create an account
3. go to browse POLY ringers
4. choose one (takes you to another page)
5. scroll down to the ringtone formats
check the MIDI
6. click download ringer
7. go to MY TONES
8. right click on the song's url

I have tried what you said and was very excited about the outcome. However I cannot view the pix mssgs I send to myself on my phone, the a670. It sends me a txt mssg stating that I need to go to www.vzwpix.com/mlib to view my new pix mssg. This is not good, because then the ringtones cant be downloaded to my phone. Any troubleshooting ideas? Thanks.

Problem solved! Apparently picture messaging does not automatically come enabled with your phone. You need to have Verizon turn it on for you. You don't have to sign up for a picture messaging service, just say you want to "pay as you go". It costs you nothing to activate it, you just pay 25 cents per picture message, or in our case, about 25 cents per 15 ringtones. Haha, beating the system is always fun. To do this just dial *611 on your mobile phone and speak to tech support.

I am new to posting to the site. I am thinking of purchasing this phone (I'm between this and a VX7000) and the ability to download from eringers is an added bonus. Since you have tried this already, how long are the ringers on your phone? The site has a lot of >100 seconds ringers and according to the way mon.k posted the instructions, you would only get about 6 sec of the song. I have a v60 right now so I haven't used myPix yet and don't know if this is a limitation of it.

In the actual pix mssg you only get about 6 secs of each ringtone. While previewing these 6 sec clips you select options and then save it to your phone as a sound. It is automatically put into the my melody folder where you can then set it as a ringtone. The ringtones are much longer than 6 secs, thats just all you get to hear in the actual pix message. You can send yourself a ton of ringtones in one message. It's pretty sweet. Go buy the a670 and see for yourself. Great phone.

I just got my phone yesterday and I've tried sending midi flies to myself through vzwpix as described above.

According to the website, the message gets sent but I never receive a message on my phone. I've tried this with midis, pics and midis and pics combined but nothing seems to work. I tried calling *611 for tech support and they tried to send me a pix message from their vzwpix account with slightly better results. I could receive their message but the image was corrupted. After tinkering around a bit longer, the tech support rep claimed that there is something wrong with the vzwpix site and I should simply try back later. I've had this issue for 2 days now so I don't really trust that answer. As a side note, I can send pics from...

I finally got my ring tones sent to my phone 😁 As stated in my previous post, I followed the steps exactly as described in this thread and failed to ever receive a pix message to my phone. This time, I did the exact same steps and actually received the message. The only thing that had changed is that I shut off my old cell phone (the one that I exchanged for the a670).

Now, I don't see how having my old phone turned on could have any effect on my new phone since it's service should have been completely disabled, but it seemed to solve my problem. So, either that had something to do with it, or the vzwpix website started working correctly, or it just takes a few days for the activation of the phone to kick in.

If you read all the posts on the eringers problem you would have read mine with the solution. Scroll down and check them out. Sometimes I wonder why I even post on these things...

Hey mon k,

This is Andy (the website admin of eRingers.com). I wanted to thank you for the post and let you know that I have posted it to our forums as well for other users (link is directly on the main forums page). I included a poll to see if it helps other Verizon users out as well. Anyway, just wanted to let you know I appreciate the information! Thank you.

First i'd like to thank JStewartx, bought the phone yesterday and I'm happy with it. Followed mon.k's instructions and although vzwpix said it sent successfully, i did not get any message. Turns out i've had the same problem as others, verizon has not turned on pix so all you have to do is call c.s. and they'll fix that. My new question to everybody, has anybody got more than 9 personal ringtones on - it seems to be the max - or does anybody know how to erase the standard ones to free up more space? Thanks. Also, if anybody knows how to change the front display to anything but a clock i'd appreciate it.
