The 670 won't be coming out for a while, unfortunately. It failed in testing for video sending and there will need to be a software flash done for it. It will however be one of the first in comparison to the Mot v710 and the Audio 9900. No word on the LG 7000 however, it's just a successor of the 6000 so there probably won't be much changed besides the flash and the video capture. Most likely, you'll start seeing these phones rolling out in late June, July, and August. I know it's a broad range, but you'll see them as early as June. That's all the inside info I can give you.

As someone who is interested in the a530 very much, and not particularly dazzled by camera capabilities, is it safe to say that this phone is simply the a530 with a camera built-in, and therefore, for someone like me, not worth waiting for?

If you want an updated version of the the a530, look at the VX3200.

Doesn't even seem to be a Verizon phone.

But do you know if what I concluded in my prior e-mail is correct? That the 670 is just the 530 with a camera?

The 3200 comes out May 7th, I'm pretty sure. Referring to the 670 is 530 with camera? More or less, but remember, the 670 is over a years worth of updating. The phone will be the same size, with the camera, and a flash, and the software will be more updated. Do not forget the download speed if you use Get It Now or send pics.

What is up with this phone?? According to phonescoop it got the FCC approval over 9 months ago. If any phone other than the 810 is long overdue, it is this one. Does anyone know if this thing is destined to be dropped or if it has any problems? I thought Samsung had the phone thing pretty much down pat and they didnt have many problems.

There was a Get It Now problem a few months ago, but that should have been fixed before the end of March?????

Does verizon try to prevent the phones from installing or running applications, ringtones and screen savers unless it is done via the get-it-now-for-pay utility?

I am just curious, I actually like the get-it-now offerings, but wanted to know if they tried to supress users from getting things on their own via third party sources. I wont buy the argument that the third party stuff may break the phone, because that just means more money for verizon when the user has to buy a new phone. I am still trying to figure out what takes so long for manufacturers to get the phones the...

The applications on the phone they try to prevent, but you can transfer ringtones via data kit and cable to the phone, as long as the format is supported. All applications are tried to suppress, some work, and some do not. Any type of screensaver, picture, whatever will work if it is in the correct file format, or at least it should.
