? about custom ringtone for contacts-Samsung SCH-a670
Can someone please help me out? I have figured out how to customize pictures for contacts, but I also want to customize ringtones as well. I am not able to figure out how to do this. Also, someone commented that the battery will last longer if the GPS is turned off. How do I do this? What are the pros/cons of turning it off. Thanks so much!

I'm not sure about the GPS, but the A670 does not have the ability to set ringers for individual contacts. Also you cannot send video...weird! Your battery go down really fast if you set the backlight to be on the whole time it's flipped open...I use the 15 second setting and just push an outside button to turn it back on when it goes off, it last a little longer that way.

The a670 DOES have the capability to set individual ringtones for different contacts...or are you using a Telus a670? I've heard their phones have different capabilities.
You can turn on/off the GPS through the settings menu.
The backlight will eat up your battery charge in between charges.

You can turn your GPS on/off by just going to menu,settings, locaton. When you have your phone on, choose the option where your backlight and your keypad light only stays on for 15 seconds. If you leave it on for longer it will eat up battery life faster. I have personalized ringtones for a lot of my contacts so i know you can do it on the 670 and most of the phones from Verizon. Turning GPS off is said to conserive your battery power a little bit. I have never actually experimented with it so I don't know 1st hand but I dont' leave mine on anyway. People have said that even if you dont' have your GPS on, in an emergency, the police can still track your phone and locate you. This is what I have heard.

Yes you can set ringers for individual contacts. Also I was told that the new firmware update will allow you to send video messages as well.

Do you mean that the new software upgrade for the 670 will allow videos to be sent back and forth? How is this even possible because the 670 was never meant to send video footages back and forth to each other.
