what is "alias" in the contact mgr?
Although I haven't used it, I'm guessing that "alias" refers to a nickname for the entry....just a guess though...

that's what I thought... but it doesn't seem to create another entry in the contact mgr, doesn't seem to change callerid mapping, etc etc. I'm baffled...

Tinkerbell is the winner yes "alias" simply means nickname thats all ..it's not mentioned in the manual....but then again neither is hold phone to ear and mouth and speak...lol

I'd love to be lol with you, but I don't understand what you're saying... evidently I am a retard if this is something as easy to understand as holding the phone to my ear. could you give me an example of how this alias facility is useful? Why would I want to set a nickname in the settings when the only place it ever shows up is in the settings?

you have a friend Bill Jones...he's got a nickname { alias} you place the nickname there it also can be used as an optional e-mail address
