I've had my a670 for about a month now and have found it a very worthy successor to my SCH-850. However, I'm having a hell of a time locating a good headset for it that can take advantage of the Answer/End and Voice Dialing features.

What I really wanted was the Jabra Earwave Boom headset with Answer/End. This is an advertised product on the Jabra website. But I could not find it anywhere. I contact Jabra who confirmed that they do make the product and that it is compatible with the a670 and that I could buy it at any retail outlet. But after going back and forth with Jabra three times I found it only at one location, HelloDirect.com who wants $50 for it (w/ shipping). Since this is just to much to pay for a wired headset I'm still ...

Just go to best buy or target and buy any headset that is compatible with the Samsungs that has an answer/mute button on the cord. I got mine for $19.95 at Target. Just make sure to set the phone to where it can have voice dial activated by the button on the ear piece or it will just answer and end calls.

The best and only headset you should use is Samsung's the one made for that phone .Plugging any other headset in can cause problems...COMPATIBLE and UNIVERSAL are not true!!! how can they be do they test all phone ? i doubt it ...also ....
(d) malfunctions resulting from the use of Product in conjunction with accessories, products, or ancillary/peripheral equipment not furnished or approved by SAMSUNG
THAT is straight from the warranty when using a third party headset if it messes up the connector inside ..your phone might redial on itsa own due to the contacts getting misshaped...yes maybe yuor buddy uses a third party set and it might work fone for him..REMEMBER MURPHYS LAW !!! Why take a chance

I have never even seen a Samsung headset. I'm sure that the only thing that they make is an earbud. I would not recommend using just any headset with your phone - but I think you are quite safe using a reliable brand ( Plantronics, Jabra ). I have talked to many manufacturer reps over the years and they have always preached about the use of aftermarket chargers and batteries - but never on headsets. I would say that I would be slightly reluctant to use $3.99 headset from Walmart on any phone.

Brian,
That is good advise on batteries and chargers. but I disagree with you on the headsets. I have been using an earbud for months that I bought at Marc's for $1.00 and never had any problems.
