Home screen icons disappear . . .
Anyone else see this; where your home screen shortcuts or icons just disappear during use??
I have the Moto Droid; 2.1. It happened a few times now in the past few months (not often), but happened twice today. I'm using the Messaging app or a game app, go back to Home and it's blank except for my background image. You can flip up and gain access to all the apps and everything works but the home screen is blank.
Only way to fix is to turn off, power down, and restart.
Any ideas?

Are you using the stock launcher, or do you have one of the home replacements, like aHome or OpenHome?
I gather you have tried letting it rest for a few seconds to see if the icons come back? When you say you are "go[ing] back to home", are you pressing "back" until you get to home, or pressing the home key to get to home? Different ways of getting back to home use different methods of activating the process, and since 2.1 does a better job of keeping background processes truly backgrounded, sometimes it lags if you are doing something that requires a good but of CPU (and redrawing the entire screen can be tough).
Have you run a task killer recently? Or set it to run automatically? Has it been set to ignore the desktop programs?
