Lag and 2.1
Ever since updating to 2.1, Droid seems to lag much more when switching between applications. I notice this most often when opening MESSAGING or GALLERY. Any ideas? My Droid use to much zippier.

You're right but the lag didn't start until this week. 2.1 was fine, I think something else is happening. I was playing with the new Droid in the Verizon store and noticed it there as well.

My thought is that the problem is actually the new 2.1 gallery (don't like it) which is extremely slow to open (and update with new pictures)...since the messaging appl. depends upon pics from the gallery, it is sort of victim to the gallery's sluggishness.

I'm pretty sure this is because the foreground app no longer gets quite as much priority as it used to.
I think the responsiveness is subjective, overall, I find mine is faster on 2.1, but there's a couple of times where it does take longer than I think it should; Usually this is when starting a new app or using back to get back to the home screen, instead of hitting home. When switching to an already running app (long press on home will bring up the last 6 apps), it is quite snappy, most likely because the app is actually still running in the background, and background apps have more prioroty now. What about available memory? I seem to have very little (30-40k) until I use Advanced App Killer and then between 60-70k. Anyway to free more RAM? Does it matter?
