ive come to a desicion, im not going to post nothing but negative things anymore, instead im going to take one problem at a time and try and resolve it(which i still think is stupid cause i paid 200beans for this thing and my phonebill is 140 a month and it does nothing but frustrate me) but anyway ...my biggest problem is the wifi and bluetooth dropout,,yes i have many wireless devices,,xbox, phones, bluetooth,,etc)

wifi problem, i still cant see how this can not be the droids fault since my xbox and laptop run solidly on wifi with no problems, but i also tried it at the gym where i workout and it dropped off there too after 10mins or so.. there seems to be no rhyme or reason to when it will drop off, but always does which is extremly ...

VoyagerBoy, I don't own a Droid yet, but I would like to comment on this.

I work with many wireless devices (Intermec, Symbol (now part of Motorola), Psion Teklogix, Zebra, etc.) and have worked with 802.11b & 802.11g - WEP128, WPA & WPA2.

So with that being said. Over the years I have noticed that I have had better connections with WEP128 (which isn't as secure as WPA). Other times there has been an actual flaw with WPA and I have needed updates to correct the issue. It was an issue with WPA not the hardware.

Also how many AP's are setup and how they are setup can factor into wireless. If multiple AP's are used in a small area you have to dial down the AP power settings otherwise they can overlap. Also 802.11 uses 1, 6 & 11 fo...

This is really sounding like a hardware problem.

I'm pretty sure we have suggested that to you before, as a likely cause.

However, just to be clear, it is possible that your xbox and laptop could have a solid connection, and it still not be the droids fault, because the droid is ALSO connected to another device. Given the max range of BT, it is quite possible for a device to cause interference to one device, but not another device 20, or even 10, feet away. Even worse, because 2.4 Ghz is essentially unregulated, you xbox controller may be staying out of the way of wifi, but interfering with bluetooth, which causes your bluetooth to change frequencies, which could then cause localized interference with WiFi. Remember, your BT has a M...

will try tests, u kinda lost me on the AP stuff, i only set up 1 router but i will look into it more.

yes i always use my bt stereo headset. and yes it was turned bt was turned and.. i mainly use the phone as an axsis point for the wifi- and then stream it through bluetooth,, either through one of my headsets, motorola bt s9, s9hd's, dc800(which slams through my whole home theater system btw) my laptop is also bluetooth along with my bt printer) so i do got alot of wifi and blutooth stuff goin on, i still thought they were on total diff. frequenceys and shouldnt bother eachother. i also realize the phone gets confused when i try and switch over bt sources which the phone is usually connected to something through bluetooth if not 2 thing...

AP = Access Point or if you work with Symbol (now part of Motorola) AP is more commonly known as Access Port.

Your wireless router would be your AP. Sounds like you only have the one so you should be good.

I have a Symbol WS2000 with 1 AP and have my Xbox 360 connected RJ45 and my PS3 & Wii are wireless. I don't use my Wii or PS3 as much over the internet, so having them on wireless is okay. My PC and Laptop both connect via wireless.

Since I don't have a Droid yet I can't chime in on whether I would or would not have the same issue.

Mupi may be on the right track that it could be hardware as you are having the issue at home and at offsite locations. I just wanted to let you know about my dealings with wireless.

i still thought they were on total diff. frequenceys and shouldnt bother eachother. i also realize the phone gets confused when i try and switch over bt sources which the phone is usually connected to something through bluetooth if not 2 things at a time like it can stream audio to my dc800 for music and still be connected to my mono headset or conference speaker..so i guess its just the nature of the technology, i always thought bluetooth was flawed anyway.

You may only have one access point (AP), but I guarantee the gym, unless they are very small, has multiple APs. To cov...

Your posts so entirely lack any semblence of grammatical correctness that I'm not even sure what your point it.

If I am correct it sounds like you are not going to post anything other than negative things anymore and while you were at the gym you dropped your xbox on your phone and your nurse is healthy.
