Anyone now torn between getting the Droid or the Nexus?
I had narrowed down my search to the Droid and now the Nexus spoiled everything. I wonder if the spring 2010 arrival at Verizon is dependable. I'm due to renew next month but I just don't know how much longer I can wait after that. 😕

The Nexus looks excellent - lighter and I've heard the screen and the processing speed is even better than the Droid's. That said, I don't think I can wait till spring to get it. My contract was up a while ago. I'll get the Droid for now and if I decide that the Nexus is something I can't live without, I'll pay full price for it or wait 10 months and get the discount. I've read hundreds of user and editorial reviews on the Droid, and decided its what I want for now.

I think I'm with you on this Chris. In fact, if I buy the Droid then decide I want the Nexus later I guess I could sell the Droid on ebay or craigslist and recoop some money to put toward the Nexus at full retail. I think Verizon will let us do this as long as we don't try to cancel the contract.

I have the droid.
unless they come out with some sweet programs that only work with a snapdragon processor, I'll most likely stick with the Droid.
We'll be getting 2.1 soon(tm) and optimized flash support, and while the Nexus is faster, atm, there is NOTHING besides eye candy features that take advantage of that kind of speed.
It looks like a great phone, and I just might bite the bullet and get one eventually, but if I do it's because my brother wants a Droid and he can't get one yet for a discount.
What I REALLY like about the nexus is that it is pushing all current phones to 2.1 (or at least 2,0 for very old models) so it gets everyone on basically the same platform. this + faster adoption means a boon for app development.

Hi Menno . . . any real word on when Verizon is pushing the update? I've heard comments about Jan 22nd but nothing definite. Sooner the better. 🙂

Don't work for them anymore. Your word is as good as mine

And by the way . . . doesn't the Moto Droid have a higher screen resolution. I've not seen a phone with a better screen anywhere.

it has 48 more pixels on one side than the nexus, so yes.
I can't even look at my ipod touch screen now.. I keep checking to see my glasses are on >.
