does anyone know how to set the phone to vibrate for all calls and alerts (such as text messages)? I can make it vibrate during calls but then it won't vibrate for text.

On Page 27 of the user guide it says:
Ringtones
To personalize your ringtones:
Find it: Menu > Settings > Sound & display
> Phone ringtone or Notification ringtone
To set your vibrate options:
Find it: Menu > Settings > Sound & display
> Phone vibrate

actually, i looked it up and you have to go to the settings inside the message "center"
