I just got the phone at 10am yesterday. Took it back to work and started charging it. It rebooted while on the charger after 7 minutes or so. Once fully charged I started to play with it. The first thing I did is click on the Map App. It started loading program and froze screen and locked up. Had to do a hard shut off and restart. It did the same thing 3 times before working fine. I called Verizon Tech Support and they reset the phone to like it came out of the box...all seemed well until I started to use it. I made one call...worked. I thought I would check out the Camera App. I unlocked the phone and clicked on the app. The screen turned black and froze but the bottom lights stayed lit. From here on out the only way to reset ...

not to be a jerk but that is why you should support your local stores and reps... Yes BestBuy and Walmart may offer instant rebates but then you can run into a headache like this! I would suggest getting your money back from BB and go to a verizon store, unless BB is offering store credit only.. I have heard that happening which is terrible customer service

I am supporting my local store and reps...I sell new and used cars and 4 people at this local Best Buy have bought cars from me. I have not had any local Verizon Customer Support staff buy anything from me. Plus there is a 40 minute wait at my local verizon store. They have a greeter that takes your name an calls you when the next agent is ready....that is everyday. It was a 3 hour wait for droid.

Agreed - support the guys who support you.

It sounds like you need to go swap out your phone though, they should be able to take care of this for you?

whenever you purchase a device, for the first 30 days you need to go back to the original store.

Now, motorola/verizon are working hard to try and replace defective devices, so go back to the Best Buy store and see if they have you on a list to get a swap as soon as it is available.
