IS THERE A TV-OUT FUNCTION ON THE MOTOROLA DROID??

The iPhone has a TV-OUT function which allows for viewing YouTube videos and other video streams on a big screen TV. The HTC Touch Pro 2 also has a TV-OUT feature, as well. If the Motorola Droid does not have TV-OUT, that might be a dealbreaker for me. Does anyone know if the Droid has TV-OUT??

I guess the official answer is NO. My decision has been made. I'm sticking with T-Mobile and getting the HTC Touch Pro 2. No sense on wasting my time and money on Verizon's ripoff Internet prices with an Android phone that DOESN'T even have TV-OUT!

I'm done here!

Dude this is a forum...dont get your feelings hurt just becasue no one anwserd you question lol..

I would think that if there is a cable and Verizon dosent carry it you can probably get it from Motorola directly.

As far as an app to run it there are currently about 10,000 apps for the android platform...which is run by GOOGLE. Why not search the Google market place and see if there is one yet.

Oh and if its not there today check tomorrow...or better yet find someone to write the app for you and get it approved..

Smitty,

The TV-OUT function on any mobile device is a HARDWARE function, NOT a software function. Therefore, if the TV-OUT hardware isn't built into the device itself, no application from any Apps Store will be able to get TV-OUT to function on that device.

But thanks for responding. My feelings were not hurt. They were just temporarily influenced by a few ****tails. 😁

Nothing like a good drunk post lol...

I havent heard that it will have a TV out built in so I would say no. But all may not be lost. There are going to be more Android phones in the future if the Droid and Eris dont have it built in. 🙂

Why do I get the feeling that you knew the answer to your question before you ever posted it?

It depends how it is handled, it can be software controled sent out through the communication port on the device (aka, microusb port)

You would either need a monitor that supports a USB interface or an adapter, but it would still work.

my TV has a USB hookup and I can send video from my computer to my TV through the USB interface.
