LG LX1200

My friend has this phone & says that he can't send texts. However, I know that he can receive them. I've tried checking his phone out and figure out how to send a text but maybe I'm dense or something cuz I can't figure it out. I even downloaded the user's manual and that says nothing about sending texts so I'm thinking that perhaps it really can't send a text, which seems really stupid to me. Why would a phone be able to receive a text but not send one? That's like having a phone where you can hear the person calling you but you can't talk back. Anyway, if anyone has any info on this dilemma of mine, I'd appreciate your feedback. Thanks!
