My View of the LG VX8350

Received my brand-spanking' new LG 8360 today via FedEx. This is the first time I ever bought a cell phone without holding it in my hands and "kicking the tires." So expect a few postings from me on this newest flip from LG--the jury is still out.

First let me give you a rundown of my experience (and love) of LG phones:

Nothing but nothing will ever match my LG VX- 8000. I had that baby for years - it was a workhorse. The 8000 had the BEST speakers that ever teamed-up on a cell phone. I miss it so much that I turn it on just to relive the great memories.

Next was the LG VX-8300. Great speakers and options that are the benchmark for todays flip phones. The 8300 is so good I will return to it if this 8360 does not live up to its ear...

Any new developments you want to share? I'm just curious how you're liking it after a couple days using it. I'm curious about this phone and the excellent ratings it is receiving. I don't know if I'm ready to leave my W755 behind - I love everything about it EXCEPT the battery life. Thanks for your input. (Oh, and this phone requires Nationwide - can you get a Vpack or something for data usage on this?) Sorry for the ignorance, just don't know...thanks

Hi

I ssume you mean the 8360, not the 8350...anyway after 10 days, I am very satisfied with changing from the 755 to the 8360. As I posted before, I still prefer the form and thinness of the 755, but chose the 8360 cuz of the full-duplex speakerphone. I still have 20 days to return it, but I'm sure it's a keeper cuz of the clarity and reception which is better than the 755. The location of the speakerphone button is a real plus for me, and two full days of use without recharging is unparalleled since my old Startac days. If I HAD to offer any criticism, it would be no "Vibrate, then Ring" feature and no date under clock on front unless you select the smaller digital font (just no room for date with large font)....anyway no buyer remorse h...

Well, I'm returning the 8360.

The final conclusion was the speakers. I listen to a lot of podcasts and the 8360 speakers are no match for the 8300 boomers.

When I first saw the 8360 speakers on PhoneScoop (remember the 8360 is the first Verizon phone I ever bought without holding it in my hands) I thought, wow, these babies must be real loud - to say the least I was disappointed.

If speakers are not a major issue for you the 8360 is a good phone.
