Battery life?

Has anyone had any problems with the battery life? I've noticed that once I get down to two bars, they go pretty quick. My boyfriend just got this phone this weekend and his died overnight on two bars. Any one else have this little dilemma?

How to Txt Smileys?!

This phone is a great improvement over the W770. My only question is how do you txt smiley faces and wink eyes? As far as I can tell there is no ) nor a ; that I can find. This is very frustrating...

Maybe I am just old school and the kids are entering their smiley faces in some new way now? Any info you all can provide is appreciated. Txt is so dead without the smileys. Help!

Display timeout

Howdy,
Just got this phone yesterday and would like to know if there is a setting for the display timeout. Its way too short. I looked in the manual but did not see anything. Its disconcerting while going thru the options to have the display blank out within a couple seconds. Thanks.

Voice Memos?

The Phone Scoop specs say this phone has a "Voice Memo" feature; the LG Resources page "Data Sheet" says it has a "Voice Recording" feature, which is most likely limited to recording phone conversations? I can find no reference in the LG Users Manual to either one.

What I want to know is, can you record short voice memos to yourself (I like to talk to myself sometimes) for simple playback later? Anybody?

Thanks in advance...

how do I create a ringtone from my music?

I would like to make one of the songs I have loaded onto my phone into my ringtone. Is there a way to do that, or does Verizon force you to pay them to download your ringtones?

lost weather channels

Two weeks ago we had a choice of Accu Weather and The Weather Channel. I downloaded the free trial and was deciding which to subscribe to and now they are not an option.

Compared to Moto W755?

I'm an old 8300 owner. That phone was a tank; I handed mine off to a buddy over a year ago (after 2 years of use/abuse), and he is still using it. I switched to a RIZR at that time, and used it unti various parts started coming off the front/slider.

I've been using a W755 for several months now. It is a good phone, but the new 8360 looks intriguing. I especially like the speakerphone key placement on the D-pad (instead of the side like the Moto), and I feel compelled to do my part to stop this recession, so, any 8360 owners have any experience/comparisons with the Moto W755?

Thanks in advance...

What about BitPIM?

I have a VX-8360 and would like to use BitPim to backup my address book. But, the latest version of BitPIM doesn't recognize the VX-8360 over a bluetooth connection.

Is there some way to configure BitPIM so that it will connect? I tried a manual setup using "Other CDMA phone" and specifying the bluetooth serial port. But, that didn't work.

custom ringtones?

I have had this phone for a couple weeks now, and am enjoying it pretty much. This is my first LG after having three Motorola's and an ancient Nokia.
I am wondering if it is possible to make an audio recording into a ringtone. I was able to do this on my last Motorola (325i). I had a ringtone which nobody else had (a USMC cadence that used to be the opening for the TV show 'The Unit'. It was nice and loud and distinctive. It got my immediate attention, and made others around who heard it smile. 🙂
It was also nice to not have to pay extra to get it.

Question on Text Messaging

If you receive more than one text at a time, can you scroll through them on the front screen, and how? I know you can view a text on the front, but what about viewing multiple ones that i haven't read yet and just received? I can't seem to figure that out. Thank you for your help for whoever answers this! Smile

Record Call Feature...

Question to those who have the phone...

Does the record call function record BOTH sides of the conversation... Most LG phones only record one side (the away side)...

Thanx...

My view of the phone

I just got this phone yesterday and i must say, i am really liking this phone so far. The only complaint that i really have about this phone is that the keypad is really noisy with the clicking when texting. I wish it was quieter. Also, it does look like it is build to be strong, but i'm afraid that if i drop it, it will break into many pieces because it's so light. I also wish that the vibrate was stronger, and that their were different options for having a different vibrate when it is in vibrate mode. Other phones that i have had, had different options for vibrate (double vibrate, strong one vibrate, one short one) Just many options, wish this had it.
But what i do like about the phone is that your able to read the texts on the outside o...

Service Menu ?

On my current phone:
Hold down OK and hit Zero to enter service Menu
Then enter 6 zeros
Does anyboby know if this is the same? I use this to set the Network Selection > Mode Preference > 1X Only. I can get 5 days on the battery and if I would want to get on the Network I would go Digital Only Hybrid.
Thanks

my only complaint

I love my new 8360. The ringers are loud, reception great, blutooth great BUT I can't down load any weather programs.I work outdoor and ride my bike alot and looking up Accu weather radar was great. I might have to return it for the chocklat 3vx8560, which does have the Accu weather available.

Question about Ringtones

I have heard that you aren't able to set a ringtone for your no caller id calls. Is that true? If so, am i only able to have one ringtone for everyone? I won't be able to have one set for a special someone? Guess i'm a little confused on that. If you could help me out with that, that would be wonderful, because i'm thinking about buying it this weekend and i want to make sure this phone is perfect for me. Thank You!

Want to upgrade

Ready for this? I want to upgrade my MOTO V710. I tried an ENV2 but returned it because the earpiece audio was a little too low. (loved it otherwise) I was thinking of the 8360. Any advice? I know the 710 wasn't very popular, but I have always had great reception with it. I'm always a little leery of making the leap. Can someone help push me? 👀
