How does the camera work??

I saw in the page for the glimmer here that the phone is sideways when showing the camera. Therefore, I am wondering can it take pictures sideways (and have the screen reorient itself) and use a side button as a capture? Because if it could be used like a camera in that respect that would be awesome!! Thanks for any info you can provide...

That's exactly the way it works, if it follows its GSM sister, Shine.

Yes you can turn the phone sideways and take a pic. Works just like a camera. Takes pretty decent pics too. So far I'm loving this phone minus the ringing issue......

Bitsy,
What is the "ringing issue" that you are referring to? I am interested in buying the Glimmer, but I'd like to know what the ringing issue is before I purchase. Can you please explain further?

TIA,
Paul

Bitsy,
I am quoting this from the March 27th review of the Glimmer:
"...when the phone rings and your ringer is on high and the phone starts ringing low and gradually raising its volume ..taking to almost the last couple of rings for the phone to ring loudly!..."
Bisty, is this the ringing issue that you were talking about?

TIA,
Paul

Yes, this is exactly the ringing issue I'm referring to. Apparently because there is only one speaker on the phone LG has it programmed to start out ringing very quietly and slowly increase in volume. I have missed a couple calls because of this but finally switched it to ring/vibrate and now I generally catch them in time. People over at HoFo are saying that hopefully this will be fixed with a firmware update sometime in the future. Other than that this is a great phone, well worth the extra $$.

The only thing is that what ever way you hold the camera when you take the pic is the way you have to view the pic also. So, if you have the camera vertical, you have to view the pic vertical. It does not automatically rotate when viewing.

Ok thanks for the heads up... I think that's ok though because otherwise a picture taken horizontally would have to be resized when viewed vertically and vise versa...
