Are there any major differences to upgrade to this phone other than aesthetics?

I personally don't see any difference other than the bigger external screen. I still don't understand what all the hype is about.

None yet discovered. The build of the v9m is awesome. 2mm thinner and much heavier. Like a titanuim thin brick.

The camera with AF and flash on the Maxx can't be beat though, if you really want to have a useable camera.

No! Absolutely not. I am very impressed with the V9m, except for the camera.

I got it yesterday, activated it for 5 minutes, reactivated my Maxx Ve, and turned the phone into friends at HoFo for hacking all of the features into the phone that Motorola CEO Ed Zander promised we would have when he introduced the phone on 5/15/2007.

Verizon clipped half of the new features, so we have to hack them back.

More to follow.

Yes. The build quality is noticably better, with buttons feeling more solid and stable than on any other RAZR platform. The UI is slightly different, although still the same VZW standard UI. The most noticable difference, however, is that the RAZR2 almost never slows down or freezes up. That was the main reason I returned my Maxx.
