CRIPPLED

who cares what CDMA carrier gets it the V9m is crippled,
its slower 225Mhz compared to 500Mhz on the V9
screen resolution is SUBPAR 65k 🤣

not to mention Rev0 compared to HSDPA 3.6(ya att suports 3.6)!!
V9m cant do video calling
AND on Edge the battery for the V9 lasts 6+ hours while the v9m will only last 3.5

not to mention the verizon CRIPPLED version that wont allow anyone to bluetooth pics video or ANYTHING to one another!!!

so all i have to say is 🤣 HAHA 😛

The only ones that are crippled ae the verizon and sprint version. Alltel's will have obex and all that, and yes it is only 65k but who cares its a cool phone. Im getting one.

The CDMA version DOES NOT NEED CRYSTALTALK. GSM versions use CRYSTALTALK because GSM sound quality is much less than CDMA, and CDMA already has built-in noise cancellation software. Every CDMA phone you have ever used has CRYSTALTALK-style features built right into the technology itself. Putting it on a CDMA handset would be redundant and useless.

Make no mistake about it, sound quality of CDMA is far above that of GSM (and their garbage codecs they use for voice). CDMA is just the superior technology in general. It doesn't need all these little features that GSM needs. Even with CRYSTALTALK, t...

Maybe it depends on your own coverage area. I was in the Alltel store a few years ago waiting and a woman I didn't know or had never met started telling me she and her husband switched to Cingular to try to get better fringe reception. She said Cingular was worse than Alltel, so they switched back to Alltel and were staying with Alltel. She even liked the customer service help better at Alltel.

I've never used anything but Alltel because in my area it was the first, is the most popular and has the best reception/sound quality/range. From my own experience with reception and sound quality I have had no desire to go to any other carrier.

Like I said at the start, I really think it depends on your own area which carrier has the "best" ...

How come all the razrs for verizon have only 65k? It's becoming an annoying habit. Is this to save battery life because of evdo?

Because:

CDMA is more powerful than GSM so it uses more battery life. The 65k screen is used to conserve battery. The CDMA components are larger and demand more power, so you physically can't fit the same size processors and batteries into the same shell as the GSM version. You have to give up something.

Yes, on paper, the phone will be slower, but since you're getting CDMA, you're getting better signal, faster internet and clearer calls than GSM can EVER provide. Why do you think GSM versions have CRYSTALTALK and the CDMA versions don't? CDMA doesn't need it, it's already much clearer than GSM.

Compare a 262k screen with a 65k screen. Seriously. There is next to NO difference.

Take it to the whole Steve🤣 these sprint worshipers don't understand that Wcdma is better in both speeds AND voice quality, not to mention better on batteries. the reason cdma and Wcdma phones tend to have comparable battery life is because Wcdma phones still have the faster processors AND higher resolution screens!

The RAZR's are the only phones that sacrifice screen quality, there are sprint and verizon phones with 262k screens if you haven't noticed. 🙄

gsm always get the better phones ☹️ first .word wide there are a lot more gsm customers than cdma so the phone manufacturers go for the gsm first and then it trickles down to cdma. 😢

Yeah, about that... we sent out a search party to find some ATT HSDPA coverage. They still haven't come back yet.

I guess its kind of like trying to find the Maltese Falcon or the Ark of the Covenant... you know its out there, but its hard to find. 🤣

Meanwhile, Verizon and Sprint's EVDO 3G networks cover around 200 million people, more soon. I wouldn't be bragging 'bout ATT's 3G at all until their coverage gets a LOT better.

After all, it was so bad that Apple went with EDGE for the iPhone. 😳

Not sure what 'crippled' means to most people, but I can do everything on my Sprint KRZR that has been criticized here - make my own ringers and send through BT all the time. Pictures too. I have used DUN, and also my KRZR takes full advantage of the BT hands free kit in my Acura TL. So if you want to talk crippled, I would agree with all you said - but for Verizon! I can't speak about Alltel because it's been years since I've had them. But I can say first hand that Sprint's motos are every bit as flexible as the T-Mobile Moto that I had.

I am very much looking forward to the RAZR 2.

atleast we dont need voice enhancer on our phones.

evdo coverage basically everywhere

havent seen emergency calls only or circuits busy on sprint or verizon phone

65k color is good enough... example mogul vs 9000. mogul has way better clarity

cingular may have 3.6mbps speeds but first of all youll never see it and they wanna make up for losses from sprint and verizon. cingular is like dodge... losing the marketshare on data, and charge alot more with just as much restrictions like verizon.video calling is one way only and is expensive as everything else on cingular data network
verizon may be crippled but offer music downloads over air... cingular dont.what about GPS?what about force roaming? what about data roaming? tell me whi...

forgot to mention the iphone is edge and they could have released it on 3g but didnt.

look at the new competition for your superb at&t. the touch by HTC. evdo rev a. GPS. 15 dollar unlimited data. touch screen and WAY CHEAPER then iphone with more features and abilities.

you could look at the kaiser but the mogul is the best competition for it since just again... edge(dial up speeds) against my moguls 2 bars indoors and still 1mbps evdo rev 0 in a cement building 🤣

heres the best advice i can give. why buy a computer with dial up if broadband is alot cheaper and works better too 😛

one more deal... try web browing on your 3.6mbps phone but try mobitv and tell me if its live enough to take those speeds. oh wait its not live. oh... you just have internet? wow... thats sad. i guess speed on a phone doesnt matter since noone will know a differeence in speed on a little cell phone

Nope, incorrect. The phone is already up on Verizon's Testman site, here's the bluetooth stack:

Bluetooth® Profiles Supported: Headset, Hands–free, Serial Port, Dial Up Networking, Bluetooth Stereo Support for Listening to Music, Object Push and File Transfer for device generated images, video and vCard

so all i have to say is HAHA 😛

LOL. It was at the very bottom of the phone list, after the Samsung 990, but checking it just now, they removed it. 🤣
