Umm whats the point?

I hated the original Chocolate personally. It looked like a cheap peice of plastic. So does this in my opinion.

I like LG alot, i have a lg vx8300....feels like top quality. I wonder why they make this phone.

it never ceases to amaze me how picky people can be about cell phones. how did cell phones become so significant to the point where the industry's every move is monitored by message boards? they sure suckered a lot of people

nothing personal against you, but what's the big deal with the 8550? it looks alright to me and i bet it will serve many people just well. some people like fancy gimmicks over plain ol' simple reliability. i don't care about trends but i'll probably take my 8600 back to Verizon and trade it for the 8550 mainly because i don't have many options for a slider phone with that carrier - and i want to try out a slider. LG is Verizon's main supplier and therefore they can get away with a lot regarding these types of phones.....

I agree with people being really picky about cell phones. I think that there's constantly so many newer and better phones coming out that everyone expects so much more out of a cell phone that ever before.

I've had my 8100 for over 2 years now and when I first got it, it was the newest greatest thing out ther, with the dual stereo speakers and mp3 capability. And when I got it, I fell in love with it and couldn't stop playing around with all the features. But eventually I stopped using the mp3 player and it just became another cell phone. But what I love about it is that it's been reliable even after I've dropped it a hundred times.

I tried the 8700 for a while and ended up returning it because I didn't absolutely LOVE it like I lo...

It seems that the point of this model is to fix most of the little issues that people had with the original model.
