Service Quality and network select

So for those who like their iPhone how is the signal quality?

I have a customer who is complaining about the coverage and want to see if he needs a new one or is the iPhone just not good at picking up signal.

Also, does the iPhone have a network select option (for instance if it picks up T-Mobile where AT&T should work can you select home only or something like that).

Thanks

Good question. Unfortunately I cant help you but Im interested in the answer if anyone out there knows.

Ive heard so many mixed opinions on signal and network, which is why Im so hesitant to get one of these and switch from verizon.

My signal strength has been outstanding. Not even 1 dropped call yet. But some of that is based on the network strength in the area which is apparently pretty good here. I don't know how it is where you are.

I just got my Iphone about a week ago and live in AZ where the network is still being built up a bit and I haven't had any problems with mine. As far as having the option to manually switch to a differant network I don't know of a way to do it. If the phone has to go into a partner coverage area it should do it automatically. I might be wrong and someone please correct me if I am. Don't know if it helps you but thats my understanding of it.

well i live and work in the riverside county area in southern california. i must admit that my signal quality is questionable. i bought a nokia n75 to test if it was the network or my phone. turns out the iphone just isnt a great signal reciever. it hasnt been BAD its just average. youll get better on some devices and worse on others. im sure in time this will improve. that being said when i called into att to ask if there were problems in my area, i was guided through a few settings, a few adjustments were made on my phone and through att as well. signal quality was improved. my ONLY issue with the phone is my phone deciding to go down to one bar whenever i have ANY bluetooth headset besides the apple one connected to it. very wierd. both p...

The only problems I have with coverage seems related to ATT and not the iPhone. I have the same coverage issues with two other phones.

The only time I noticed being able to select a carrier was when I was roaming in Germany.
