Well, my iPhone made it 30 days with minimal problems (one failed charge telling me i needed to take it in for repair when it was apparently a false alarm because it started working fine anyways, and safari crashing occationally)

On the 31st day of ownership I unplug it from my computer and toss it in my pocket to head to work. It was then that I discovered the bottom half inch of the touchscreen wasn't working.

I assume you all know how the iPhone operates, accessing the phone, internet, or ipod requires use of the bottom half inch. if you manage to get it to click on one for you, you can make your way around (except the phone unless it was left on your contacts before the glitch)

SMS requires you to tap the text entry box on th...

thats a useful contribution 🙄

are you saying yes to any point in particular? is turning it off supposed to help? or are you saying that out of biased spite?

the phone has been powered off, rebooted and restored to no avail.

coherent replies with at least some content to them will be much more appreciated...

I was going to suggest removing the battery and then I rememberd, OOOPS you can't do that. I can't see why you can't take it back to the store, if it's defective then it's defective and they should stand behind their product. Isn't it a fact that the thirty days is just if you want to return the item because you don't want it? I do not think it's the life of the warantee, God I hope not! Bring it back, I'm sure they will help you out without charge.

oh i would, but my car has been overheating and i live a couple hours from the closest apple store. cingular/att stores dont handle hardware issues with the iphone, so applecare overnighted me a box i overnighted it to them they overnighted me a replacement and it'll be at my door in a few hours here.

Very good, glad to see they are going to stand behind the product. I'm sure more glitches are going to rear their ugly heads with the Iphone in the next couple of months, I did something I never do, and that is buy first generation anything, but I went against my rule and purchased the Iphone, it went back in forty eight hours, while a very nice Ipod I found the phone part lacking. So I hope to purchase the next version when they get the kinks worked out.

I don't know if you saw my other post, it has to do with the descepancy with the amount of Iphones sold in relation to the amount that have been activated.

This past weekend I went to a lot of Boardwalks in the NJ area, all of them have arcades with games and all of them had Iphones as prizes, tons of them. There was one place that had fifty of them behind the counter, which made me wonder where they got them and how they were able to obtain so many of an item that is supposed to be so hard to get.

One arcade owner said he got them from an cellular store who was overstocked and couldn't give them away. So he got a nice price on the lot of them. HMMMM makes you think doesn't it?

I went to Boardwalks in Long Branch,Point Pleasant, S...

That fact that after the initial offering of Iphone, the product went way down hill after those couple of days. Funny thing was, there were not too many people even playing these games trying to win the phone. That alone tells me a lot, The word is out there. The phone sucks.

You have no clue how bad this tech head wanted that phone! Like I said I never buy first generation of anything. I'm still dissapointed, there is one thing that I do when I purchase a new cell, and that is, I rate the phone first, the sensitivity, ringer, speakerphone etc, all the other stuff like camera, music player, is secondary, all that extra stuff may work great, but after all it's a phone first, if the phone portion does not work well, I could care less a...

I live in a very rural area that just started getting decent coverage not too long ago. I'm proud to say my Iphone has not dropped one call yet. I actually have better service with the iphone on certain roads than I did with other phones.
Before the iPhone I had a W810 which had excellent call quality & coverage. From that i went to a blackjack HORRIBLE call quality. dropped calls left and right. From there I went to a curve and while the call quality was good..it would turn off every time I went on the internet or made a call.
With the iphone I have none of these issues and the call quality is excellent. Maybe It's just the area i live in opposed to yours..maybe i just got lucky. But I haven't been this happy with a phone since the SE 7...
