Are they really refusing insurance on a $600.00 device? That seems to be an overwhelming reason to wait. 😕

Yes that is very true. People must be careful especially if they are going to spend the money on this device because of that reason. I think it would be best to wait until a second version is out, insurance can be put on, or the prices go down. Everyone knows that the price will go down.

ummmmmmmmmmmmmm maybe u aren't getting something about this whole apple thing

the price might go down slightly after the next version comes out but i don't see this price going anywhere for a long time

this is APPLE'S product
i have never seen their Ipods go much cheaper then what they are selling at right now
unless u get a used one

as for insurance it will never be offered because of fraud ..... and the expense of the device the insurance company will never take on that monster

use your home owners or your car insurance they will cover it

Its not uncommon with new, expensive devices. When the RAZR first came out and it was $250+ they didnt offer insurance on it either.

ATT doesn't offer insurance on any of their PDAs or Blackberries either. At least with those you can usually buy them fairly cheaply with a new contract so what you may lose isn't a killer. I can't imagine getting one of these and having it get lost or wet or dropped ow whatever. People say you can get insurance through your home/tenant policy but I never looked into it.

AT&T is not 'refusing' to insure the iPhone. Their wireless insurance program/carrier excludes all data intensive devices (BlackBerry or PDA devices). Otehr posts note another wireless insurance alternative, and you can also check with yoru insruance agent about the possibilites of an equipment floater.
