Forums don"t lie
The simple fact that any article with the words "iPhone" in it spawns this many forums speaks a lot of the devices imminent success. Lets face it, when has ANY other device launch created these enormous threads?
If you like AT&T you brag about the iPhone, if you don't you bash the iPhone simply because you can't use it with your carrier.
Ultimately, the consumer will decide if the iPhone will be a success or not, and judging by apples stock I would say its already headed in the right direction.
At least it has opened the eyes of all other phone manufacturers, and I'm sure everyone can agree on that!

Unfortunately alot of these threads should be deleted as they are just morons talking trash.

I still think that the iPhone will be the PS3 of cell phones.
It does not support/have third party programs, voice dialing, video recording, expandable memory, picture messaging, IM, A2DP playback, music ringtones. You can't search your phonebook only scroll through it or edit attachments. Most if not all of these are basic features on most phones already on the market that are much cheaper price wise.
Also I found out today that it is being manufactered by the same company that makes the RAZR and we all know how sturdy those are regardless of your carrier.
It just doesn't live up to the hype for me.
