I work for VZW, and I want the iPhone - LOL. We just recieved an email about "how to handle customer inquries about the iPhone." So sad...
In a summerized version:
Customer: The Chocolate seems like a good deal, but I am really interested in the new iPhone and I wanted to get a new iPod anyway.
Rep: What is it about the iPhone that interests you?
Customer: I am looking for an all in one device, and the iPhone does just that.
Rep: Well, I understand your point. We are offering the LG chocolate for 99.99 and with a 4gb music kit, the total would still be less than that of the iPhone ($249.99). Does that meet your needs?

No what is sad/funny, Non Corp Cingular stores are doing the same thing since they will not be getting the iPhone either. They sent out a memo stating to push other phones instead and are stating falacies and innacurate info on the iPhone. I had to snicker when I was reading it as I used to manage the store and know the guys their.

They aren't going to have them on launch and I assume for a few weeks or month afterwards. I think this is the main reason AT&T has rebranded their corporate stores over the past few weeks. I'm not sure this is an AT&T thing or an Apple thing who wishes to maintain initial sales to them and their carrier ally. As a Mac owner and fairly long time Apple product user I know Apple can be very overbearing and controlling on their products.

I mean it's kinda funny but I figured Verizon would have a better counter than that. Maybe a deal on the Q or something I don't know...
I mean despite the size of the new at&t they still kind of act like they're throwing stones at the establishment (vzw).
And they still sell the chocolate!?!? I'd say they should hurry up with the razr2 v9m but I just saw the bad news about that phone over in the moto forum...
