I am currently using an M500, so I thought I would set you straight on a couple of these things.
First, I have great call quality. I have never experienced the squeal that you mentioned the A620 having. In areas where other phones have had weak or no signal, even with the Sanyo 9000 I used ot have, I get bars and more importantly can make and receive calls.
Second, the battery life, while not stellar, is still very good. I use a bluetooth headset most days, and listen to music, and surf the web, and I end up charging my phone about every other day. Not bad, considering its basically the same battery as the A640.
The only complaint I really have for the device is the keypad is glossy, and shows smudges easy, and is sometimes hard to text with, all problems that hopefully will be fixed with the M510.
